Lily: Mom, but who was that god? Can you please tell me the whole story?
Miko: Okay, but let the others gather first.
Lily: Okay, Mom.
Two hours later
Miko: So let's begin the story of the god who fought other gods for justice.
A thousand years ago, humans and demons lived peacefully. There were no wars between the six kingdoms:
Kingdom of Peace
Kingdom of Wealth
Kingdom of Talent
Kingdom of Creation
Kingdom of Agriculture
And the last, the Kingdom of Justice
Every kingdom had its own specialty. The Kingdom of Peace was the most peaceful. The Kingdom of Wealth held vast riches. The Kingdom of Talent had unmatched skills. The Kingdom of War (Creation) was the strongest. Agriculture was the most vital, and Justice was the most secure kingdom.
But when the gods invaded Earth, most of those kingdoms were destroyed. Some kingdoms prayed to the Goddess of Justice, some to the Goddess of Nature—but they were the ones who led to humankind's suffering.
Miko: We need to go to that temple.
Aurthur: But there's no use. The gods won't help us.
Miko: We can only pray now.
Aurthur: Looks like we have no choice.
At the Unknown Temple
Miko: Oh god, please help us. The other gods have attacked. We have no choice but to come here. Help us, in the name of justice—bring justice to humankind.
Aurthur: There's no use in praying...
God of Death (from now on, called Death): There's no use in praying, because your end is here.
God of War (War): Give us the Jewel of Life.
Miko: You gods have power and authority—why do you even need this jewel?
Death: A mere mortal dares to question us?
(Aurthur and Myu, in their minds): Please, God of Darkness, you are the only one who never sided with the others—please save our kind.
Suddenly, a dark aura covered the sky.
Death: Shadow… so you're awakened now.
War: You forgot what Justice did to you. Now leave this place at once!
God of Darkness (Shadow): .....
Death: As expected, you still say nothing.
Whisper of Darkness (the soul that speaks for Shadow): You two are just gods of death and war—and still you dare to come here?
Death: You have no power, no authority, and yet you still think you can defeat us?
As soon as Death spoke, the pressure around the temple increased. In that moment, Death realized—Shadow had unlocked his first stage.
Shadow: Awaken.
Death (in a trembling voice): You've… unlocked your first form?
War: Why are you afraid, Death? We just need to kill him!
God of War charged at Shadow. Even before Death could stop him, a sudden slash echoed throughout the temple. When I looked up (I refers to Miko), I saw the head of the God of War. The God of Darkness, known for using dark magic, was holding a sword...
Death: Shadow, you dare to kill him? Have you forgotten what Justice (the Goddess of Justice) did to you?
Shadow: .....
Whisper: This time, even Justice can't save you, Death.
Death: You're only in your first form—and you still dare to speak back to me?
Death lunged at Shadow, using his death scythe. He attacked, but Shadow blocked it. Death summoned undead mobs—but because of the aura around Shadow, even souls feared to go near him. At that moment, Death realized he had to run. He teleported away to inform Justice—using a technique even Shadow couldn't stop.
After Death fled the temple, Shadow moved to the battlefield. The demons, who had been struggling against the army of gods, were suddenly healed and empowered. When the gods' army saw Shadow, they began to retreat...
Miko and Aurthur (in fear): Thank you… for protecting us.
Whisper: We don't have time to waste. Let's go to your base. He (Shadow) needs to see the world—and prepare for war.
Miko and Aurthur: Yes, sir.
Whisper: Call him Shadow.
Miko and Aurthur: Okay… Shadow.
