Chapter 105 - Acquiring the Heaven's Curse Seal, The Assault of the Kamizuru Clan

[Day 704: All experimental White Snakes mutated. Orochimaru was nearly devoured by the backlash, but you swiftly dealt with the White Snake using your Sharingan. Orochimaru witnessed your genjutsu, and the greed in his eyes deepened.]

...

[Day 872: Orochimaru could no longer suppress his desire for your body and attempted to assassinate you. You fought back fiercely, and both of you ended up severely injured.]

[Day 873: The intense commotion drew the attention of Sarutobi Hiruzen. He discovered your and Orochimaru's research. Your Konoha registry was revoked, branding you a rogue ninja.]

...

[Day 929: The Akatsuki extended an olive branch to you.]

...

[Day 998: You tracked down Otogakure, the village Orochimaru had established, seeking revenge. Orochimaru fled in disgrace after your assault. You discovered that he had just begun researching the Curse Seals.]

...

[Day 2,622: You refined the research concepts of Orochimaru and successfully developed the Heaven's Curse Seal. To ensure safety, you did not use Jugo's cells directly. Instead, you extracted the unique material responsible for his abnormal cellular mutations, combining it with your own cells to create a completely new serum.]

[Simulation ended, calculating results...]

*[Please choose one reward: Research on the Power of Moryo 1, Research on Dark Medical Ninjutsu *1, Heaven's Curse Seal]

"Heaven's Curse Seal?"

Shimizu raised an eyebrow.

Judging from the simulation, he and Orochimaru had worked together for quite some time.

Towards the end, they had become accomplices in scientific research.

Unfortunately, Orochimaru's desire for his body led to betrayal.

"I choose the Heaven's Curse Seal."

Shimizu made his decision without hesitation.

In the simulation, while he had dabbled in researching Moryo's power and Dark Medical Ninjutsu, there had been no significant breakthroughs.

Most of his time had been spent on the Curse Seal. Considering the time investment, the Heaven's Curse Seal had the highest value.

Since that was the case, securing it first was the best choice.

[Heaven's Curse Seal has been granted...]

A glass tube appeared before Shimizu, containing a thick, pitch-black liquid.

Through the transparent glass, the liquid seemed to shimmer ominously.

"A Curse Seal is essentially a type of cell—a result of research into Jugo's mutated cells."

Shimizu hadn't expected his first encounter with Senjutsu would be through a Curse Seal.

"Although it's only an imitation of true Senjutsu, it's still a considerable boost to combat power."

Shimizu stored the Heaven's Curse Seal inside a sealing scroll.

Using the Curse Seal carried a risk of death. Now was not the right time to use it.

The success rate of Curse Seal transplantation was abysmally low—only Sasuke and Anko had survived the process.

Moreover, the Curse Seal inflicted heavy corrosion on its users. Whether this corrosion was reversible or not remained uncertain.

Even Sasuke eventually abandoned the Curse Seal's power.

Otherwise, in Boruto, with the overwhelming strength of the Otsutsuki and Orochimaru's redemption, why wouldn't Orochimaru have developed a purified version of the Curse Seal?

After safely storing the black liquid, Shimizu stepped out of the cluttered tent.

Most of his simulated time had been dedicated to researching the Curse Seal, only completing it towards the end.

Could Moryo's power be integrated with the Curse Seal?

The Heaven's Curse Seal absorbed natural energy to transform the body into a pseudo-Sage state.

If Moryo's cancer-like regenerative power could be used as the cost of the Curse Seal's corrosion, would it allow for harm-free usage?

Perhaps even a permanent, constant Curse Seal state?

...

A Few Days Later

It was the dead of night.

The world was silent, with the moon hanging high.

The camp was dimly lit, with only a few tents emitting a faint glow. Oil lamps along the pathways flickered in the breeze.

Perched in a tree, Hyuga Iroha suddenly tensed, veins bulging at his temple.

He noticed something shifting in the underbrush.

Byakugan had x-ray vision but lacked night vision.

Just as he was about to throw a light ball to illuminate the area, he heard a sharp whistle through the air.

A warm, wet sensation spread from his abdomen, followed by a piercing pain.

"Enemy attack!"

Hyuga Iroha fell from the tree, his nearby comrades dropping one after another.

"Enemy attack!"

"Enemy attack!"

Those who weren't killed instantly mustered their remaining strength to cry out.

Lights in the camp flickered on one by one, and many shinobi were jolted awake by the alarm.

"Damn it! We're under attack."

The remaining jonin quickly assembled.

Most of the sensory ninjas had been deployed elsewhere, leaving only a few Hyuga clansmen here.

The Hyuga were unmatched in daytime reconnaissance, but at night, they relied on the Aburame Clan's insect-based scouting.

If an enemy entered the perimeter, the insects would immediately sound the alarm.

This camp was in a remote location—no one should have attacked it.

Yet tonight, an enemy had come!

Chunin and genin hastily equipped themselves, gripping their weapons as they rushed toward the source of the commotion.

In the darkness, a group of intruders swiftly bypassed the fallen sentries and infiltrated the camp.

Leading them was Suzumebachi, granddaughter of the first clan head of the Kamizuru Clan from Iwagakure.

Her messy, short brown hair framed her face, which at first glance appeared innocent. But upon closer inspection, her sharp and ruthless gaze was unmistakable.

Biting her finger, she used her blood as a medium to summon a creature.

The other Iwagakure ninjas followed suit, performing synchronized summoning jutsu.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Massive Queen Bees, four to five times the size of a human, swarmed into the area, launching an all-out assault on the camp.

"Hmph, no Aburame here, only Hyuga?"

Suzumebachi scoffed coldly and charged forward with her comrades.

The Kamizuru Clan bore an intense grudge against the Aburame Clan, a hatred passed down through generations.

They held no goodwill toward other Konoha shinobi either.

...

"These bees are a nuisance!"

Obito formed the seals for a Great Fireball Jutsu, but before he could unleash it, a Queen Bee's venomous stinger lashed out, slicing a long gash into his arm.

"Watch and learn, Obito."

Uchiha Tekka's hands moved rapidly, far surpassing Obito in speed. A massive fireball formed in the dimly lit camp, engulfing a Queen Bee in flames.

Within moments, the giant insect collapsed, dissipating into smoke.

"If they keep summoning new ones, this won't end."

Kakashi glanced at Obito. He had been about to assist but saw that Obito wasn't in mortal danger, so he refocused on his own fight.

"Bee Honey Jutsu!"

Several Kamizuru Clan members released waves of sticky, swarming bees, engulfing the Konoha shinobi.

Kakashi cut through a swarm with his sword, but more bees immediately followed.

Soon, the first bee clung to him.

Then the second.

The third.

The fourth...
