Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Feeding Time & Future Plans

"If you keep eating like this, I'm gonna have to take out a loan."

Elliot sighed, watching as his golden Weedle eagerly devoured another Bug-Type Pokéblock.

Weedle didn't care.

It just chomped down, wriggling in satisfaction.

Elliot could only shake his head as he looked at his dwindling Pokédollars.

He had bought more Pokéblocks for his party—

Normal for general use.

Fire for Charmeleon.

Flying for the future Flying-types and moves (Charizard).

Dark for Deino.

Dragon because Deino would need it.

Bug for his bottomless pit of a Weedle.

And despite the expense, he still avoided Poison-Type Pokéblocks.

Why?

Because Poison Pokéblocks were the most expensive on the market—even more than Dragon-Type Pokéblocks.

Why?

Because making them carried a risk of poisoning the maker if done improperly. That hazard fee drove up the cost.

Elliot wasn't about to waste money on that.

After buying supplies, Elliot headed to the Pokémon Center to heal up.

His Charmeleon and Deino had taken some hits during the battle against Misty.

Weedle?

Perfectly fine.

It sat on his shoulder, watching the whole process with mild interest.

As he waited, Elliot pulled up his Gacha Inventory.

He had five normal Pokémon Gacha Tickets.

Without hesitation, he fused them into a Bronze Pokémon Ticket.

Tempting as it was to use it immediately, Elliot knew better.

The higher he fused his tickets, the better the potential Pokémon he'd get.

For now—he'd save it.

When Chansey returned with his healed Pokémon, Elliot pulled out a Normal-Type Pokéblock and handed it over.

Chansey blinked in surprise.

"Chan-sey?"

"Go on. You deserve it."

With a happy coo, Chansey gratefully accepted, munching on the treat before handing him Deino and Charmeleon's Pokéballs.

"Thanks."

Chansey gave a cheerful nod before waddling off to help another trainer.

Elliot released both Pokémon, watching as Deino shook itself out and Charmeleon stretched.

Then he pulled out their food.

More Pokéblocks.

More money disappearing.

Charmeleon ate calmly. Deino chomped down aggressively.

And then—

"Wee! Wee-dle!"

Weedle wiggled impatiently, eyes locked on the Pokéblocks.

Elliot sighed.

"You just ate."

Weedle didn't care.

It wanted more.

Elliot rolled his eyes and tossed over another Bug-Type Pokéblock.

Weedle happily dug in.

Elliot could only shake his head as he leaned back.

"I swear, you're gonna bankrupt me one day."

With his team fed and his next destination in mind, Elliot prepared for the next leg of his journey.

The road ahead was long—

But his team was getting stronger every step of the way.
