Leon sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Emma, can you stop, please? Damien has been my best friend since we were kids, and now you're saying he's a villain? How does that make any sense?"
Emma nodded without hesitation. "Yes. I know it's hard to believe, but I already told you earlier… this world isn't real. It's a part of the book, and I showed you earlier how the time skipped."
Leon let out a dry chuckle. "Right. A book, time skip." He ran a hand through his hair, clearly trying to stay patient. "Emma, I've been living here my whole life. Everything around us is real. I have memories, people who've known me since childhood. Damien is one of them. How do you explain that?"
Emma swallowed hard. "Because the book needed to fill in the gaps. It had to give you a past that made sense so you wouldn't question it."
Leon scoffed. "So now you're saying all my memories… everything I've ever known… are they fake?"
Emma hesitated. "Not fake. Just… rewritten. Altered."
