Chapter 202 - Let Me Fly

Su Yan's body once again felt the crushing force of Bluenote's gravity. Even though Su Yan could still move under the atmospheric weight, it did slow him somewhat.

"Hmph!" Su Yan detonated the Haki-dragon he had conjured.

Boom—!!!

A massive shockwave fanned out, annihilating the surroundings and even pulling Hades into the blast radius.

"Ughhhh!!" Hades grunted, staggering.

High above, Bluenote gathered intense magical power into his fists and came crashing down onto Su Yan with a heavy punch.

"Break for me!!!"

Boom—!!!

The ground around Su Yan splintered, shockwaves rolling across the terrain. In response, Su Yan enveloped his arm in Armament Haki – hardened and entwined with his Conqueror's Haki – arcs of purple lightning dancing across his skin.

Crackle–!!

Before their fists actually met, black-and-red bolts of energy flickered in the space around them.

Boom—!!!

The impact unleashed a tidal wave of force, uprooting stones and trees in every direction. Bluenote felt a terrifying power surge through Su Yan's fist.

"I… I'm being overpowered…"

Bluenote's eyes widened as he coughed blood, hurled back by Su Yan's strike. In a moment, he was left reeling. Within an instant, the two-on-one advantage of Bluenote and Hades had been shattered by Su Yan's strength.

Makarov, off to the side, stared in near disbelief. He'd known Su Yan was monstrous, but seeing him thrash two of Grimoire Heart's strongest mages made Makarov realize how far the boy had come.

Suddenly, dark clouds gathered overhead. After a few peals of thunder, the skies opened, and a torrential rain began to fall.

Makarov noticed how magical energy twisted in the sky, and droplets of rain plummeted with startling speed, all heading for Su Yan's position.

One drop of water struck the ground near Su Yan's feet.

Boom!!

It punched a sizable hole in the earth, like a small artillery shell. Then more raindrops followed.

Boom, boom, boom!!!

Rains of bullets hammered down. From above came Bluenote's triumphant shout:

"Fly! Fly, hahaha!"

He had accelerated the raindrops via gravity, each droplet slamming down like a barrage of mini-meteors. Su Yan tensed. Though these drops were individually small, each hit carried lethal force.

"Is that all?" Su Yan muttered. Around his body, an intense red glow appeared—flowing Armament Haki merged with Conqueror's Haki. Most of the lethal raindrops were deflected or neutralized as they neared him, though it was still annoying enough to obscure his vision.

"Quit messing around!" Su Yan growled.

"Fighting words?" Bluenote cackled high above. But Su Yan merely lifted his right hand, Conqueror's Haki rippling along his arm.

"Splitting… the sky—!!!"

With a fierce slash of his hand, a massive burst of Haki arced upwards. Thunderous energy split the dark clouds overhead, driving them apart to reveal sunlight. The violent rain abruptly ceased.

"W-what…?!" Bluenote's confidence cracked at the sight. Even Hades watched in shock. Through raw force of will, Su Yan had cleaved the sky in two.

Bluenote slowly descended, glaring. "Fine, then. Time to get serious. Let's see you handle this."

He stretched his arms outward, joining his index fingers to focus magic in front of him.

"Super Gravity Ball!!!"

A dark-purple sphere appeared, pulling in everything around it – debris, stray magic – swallowing it without a trace, even bending light as it devoured the surroundings.

Makarov gasped. "What is that?!"

"It's an infinite gravitational well that absorbs everything," Bluenote announced, grinning maniacally. "No matter what you try, it'll be sucked in. Nothing escapes this singularity–not even light. Fly! Fly for me!!"

Su Yan felt an intense force dragging him forward. Gritting his teeth, he enveloped his arm in Armament Haki – hardened and entwined with compressed Conqueror's Haki. Purple lightning and a menacing black aura crackled around his fist.

"Blood Fist!!!" Su Yan roared, charging directly at the Super Gravity Ball. He threw a single punch.

Boom—!!!

The ground heaved under the clash, a vortex of energy swirling around the singularity. Bluenote grinned. "It's useless—no attack can break my gravity well!"

Yet arcs of black-red lightning erupted at the point of impact.

Crack, crack!!

"Wh-what?!" Bluenote gasped, seeing cracks spiderwebbing across the Super Gravity Ball.

Fwoom—!!

The gravity sphere shattered into shards of dissipating magic.

Bluenote blanched. "Magic… can break? This can't be real!"

Before he could recover, Su Yan materialized at Bluenote's side in a blur. "You said you wanted to make me 'fly,' didn't you? Then I'll make you fly instead!"

Boom—!!!

Su Yan's punch crashed into Bluenote's jaw, sending him screaming skyward.

"Aaaaaagh!!!"

Bluenote hurtled through the forest, snapping countless trees before his body finally soared over the island's edge, disappearing beyond the sea horizon, who knew where he'd land.

In one decisive blow, Su Yan had shown how easily a so-called unstoppable mage could be cast aside.
