"We're going to the hospital today," he repeated, straightening his cuffs as he stood by the breakfast table.
Delphinia blinked up at him, a spoonful of yogurt halfway to her lips. "Hospital?" she echoed, setting the spoon down. "Why? I feel fine."
Evander arched a brow, lips curving into a knowing smirk. "You're pregnant, sweetheart. We need to confirm everything is okay."
She exhaled dramatically, resting her chin on her palm. "We already know I'm pregnant. Why do we need a doctor to tell us what we already know?"
"Because I need professional confirmation," he replied, leaning down and pressing a lingering kiss to her forehead. "And I want to make sure our baby is healthy."
The sincerity in his voice softened her resistance, and she sighed. "Fine. Let me get ready."
