Miranda appeared displeased instantaneously.
She retorted, "How could you compare me to Charlotte! You're insulting me!"
The woman wanted to please Miranda, but she made Miranda upset instead. She hurriedly said, "I misspoke. I shouldn't be comparing Charlotte to you. It's like comparing trash to treasure."
Another woman named Jamie wanted to smooth things over and chimed in, "That's right, how can we compare Charlotte to Miranda? Miranda never lacked rich admirers and led a comfortable life all this while. Charlotte bears no resemblance in any way. She was already poor before and became poorer after giving birth."
She continued, "I still remember Charlotte was working in some company called Quick Errands Services many years ago. Out of the blue, she called me at night. She told me that she had trouble achieving her sales target. She pleaded with me to place an order so her company wouldn't fire her."
Charlotte was taken aback when she heard that from a distance.
