Chapter 412 - Chapter 413: Bringing About His Own Destruction

Alan wore a look of amusement, as if watching a good show. He was curious to see exactly what Darren Cross planned to do next.

Scott's voice came through his earpiece: "Alan, I'll leave the Wasp Suit with you for safekeeping. I'll stop Darren!"

Now that Scott had the Wasp Suit in hand, he believed the only person capable of protecting it was Alan.

Tony stood to the side with the same look of interest. Today had turned out to be quite the spectacle — it had been a long time since he'd seen something this entertaining.

"Darren, you might want to be careful," Tony offered a good-natured warning. But Darren clearly lacked the reaction speed that Hank Pym still had, even at his age.

Caught off guard, Darren never expected the older Hank to move so fast — and with such precision. In a blink, the weapon in Darren's hand was knocked away and clattered across the floor.

"Argh!" Darren cried out, clutching his wrist, which was already starting to swell and bruise from the impact.

The two bodyguards behind him immediately raised their weapons, aiming at Hank Pym.

"The one who stole the Wasp Suit is still inside the particle chamber, right? I doubt I'm wrong," Darren said, glancing around. He knew there wasn't just one suit.

As for how that person managed to sneak in and steal the Wasp Suit — he didn't really care anymore.

"Thief! If you don't want to see these four people drenched in blood, you'd better come out quietly," Darren threatened.

Hope, restrained by the guards, widened her eyes and shouted furiously at Darren: "Darren, don't make another mistake!"

"Mistake?!" Darren Cross threw his head back and laughed maniacally. "The one who's wrong is your rotten father, Hank Pym! He's been the one holding me back all this time — and now you've been brainwashed by him too?"

"I'm sorry, Alan, Tony," Darren said, turning dark. "Just remember — it was Hank who got you killed."

In Darren's mind, since these two outsiders had now seen his true nature and intentions, they couldn't be allowed to leave the particle chamber alive.

"It's you who's bringing about your own death," Alan said coldly, staring Darren down. Selling that kind of tech to Hydra would only plunge the world into deeper chaos.

He had no desire to deal with that twisted organization again — not with the looming presence of Thanos out in the universe.

If Earth started tearing itself apart from the inside, how would the heroes have any strength left to deal with the Chitauri?

Within moments, Alan had knocked down all four guards. Realizing things were going south, Darren quickly reached into his coat for a shrinking gun — intending to eliminate these nuisances first!

_Bang!_

Before Darren could react, he was struck hard and slammed to the ground, a fist landing square on his jaw and forehead.

Sprawled on the floor, he shook his head, trying to stay conscious.

But the shrinking gun had already fallen into Hope's hands — and she had seen firsthand how Darren used it to turn Frank into a pile of flesh.

If Scott hadn't taken Darren down just now, giving Hope the chance to seize the gun, they could've ended up the same — nothing more than a heap of pulp, washed down into the sewers.

"Darren, you're completely insane. I'll be reporting today's incident to the board. You need to reflect on your actions from a prison cell," Hope said as she quickly secured the gun, confiscated Darren's pager, and ordered the lockdown to be lifted.

"Pfft… you think you can lock me up?" Darren sneered. "Hydra's people will be here soon!"
