"Who was that, anyway?" I asked Eric.
"Oh, that was Suzan. She is Mary's honor guard and closest companion." replied Eric. "By the way, I'm sure I could find a willing human bride for you if you want one. My wife and I love playing matchmaker."
"Oh yes," said Carla. "That would be very helpful. Make sure to bring one who hasn't already taken a mate."
"Oh yes, of course. I wouldn't bring you a married woman." said Eric, giving me a little wink.
I'm not going to object, but I already have so many wives and everyone keeps trying to give me more. I don't even know how many wives I have, and I certainly can't remember all of their names. I wouldn't be surprised if I have wives whose faces I don't recognize. It's already beyond ridiculous.
Well whatever, there's no point being picky about it now. Why reject the next woman when I didn't reject any of the last fifty or whatever.
Eric excused himself and went straight to Maria. He found Maria in her room along with Mary.
