Chapter 20 - The Trespassers II

Immediately when Goldie and Regal saw Ethan and tried turning back, Ethan was already behind them. "You're the trespassers, right?" Ethan asked in a cold tone.

Goldie immediately manifested his lexicon, a bronze coloured lexicon with the image of two crossed pistols which had feathers around it's trigger etched into it's cover. Regal also manifested his lexicon, a blue lexicon with the ice symbol also etched into it's cover. The ground under Regal feet started freezing as a result of his ice element.

Instantly, an icy blue battle axe materialised in Regal's hands as he dashed towards Ethan. Goldie also materialised the two pistols and started shooting hurriedly at Ethan. All the bullets sent Ethan's way were no normal bullets. The bullets had golden feathers around and could manoeuvre around Regal's body before approaching Ethan.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Ethan struck away the bullets that approached him at high speed and blocked Regal's downward slash simultaneously before kicking Regal in the chest sending him flying a few meters away. He attempted moving forward again but a bullet struck his leg. "Shit! Didn't I see it coming? No, these are the old bullets." Ethan realised. Goldie's bullets never stopped attacking their targets until they got destroyed. He continued blocking the five bullets which kept on coming back at him after he'd struck it away.

"Here I come!" Goldie yelled as he shot at Ethan from behind. "So it was you?" Ethan questioned as he blocked another bullet and turned towards Goldie but Regal also started shooting icicles at him.

"Phantom pace!"

Ethan moved faster than wind dodging each icicle and bullet successfully but he'd to concentrate on the attackers not their weapons. In a instant, he got behind Goldie and raised his the Eclipsing Fang to strike but Regal had also gotten behind him. "Do you think you're the only one who can use the Feather step?!" Regal yelled and swung down his battle axe to strike Ethan. Ethan successfully blocked the attack but unfortunately Regal left the axe as an ice gauntlet manifested on his hand.

"Ice fury:Touch of Ymir!" Regal yelled as a blue aura flared out of his gauntlet. With a sharp jab he tried hitting Ethan's left side of his ribcage but Ethan also quickly blocked the attack with the Eclipsing Fang but the strength from the impact of Regal's punch still sent him flying into a wall.

"Nngh!" Ethan gritted his teeth as slammed into the wall. "You thought you were strong enough, right?" Goldie questioned as he shot three more bullets into Ethan's left leg attempting I cripple him. "Dragon's Recovery." Ethan whispered and immediately all he bullets fell out and his left leg healed back.

"He mentioned Feather step. That actually a really good skill just like my phantom pace."

Ethan picked up the Eclipsing Fang from the ground and...

ZZZZAKT!

[Skill, Eclipse walk is in use.]

Ethan first turned invisible making Goldie and Regal wonder where he would pass. "He also has a stealth skill?" Regal questioned. Ethan then channeled his lightning through the sheathed lightning sword and slashed it at Regal sending an arc of lightning towards him and whiles Regal was getting ready to block the attack, Ethan got behind Goldie and slashed his back. He moved so quickly and synced that Goldie couldn't even react. "Shit!" Goldie cried as he fell to the ground.

[Skill, Venom slash is in use.]

The system showed. Before Regal could also fully block the attack, Ethan got behind him and slashed his back also.

"Young mistress... Young mistress. Someone came out of the Death door." A maid went running to her mistress who sat under a cherry blossom tree with a rose flower in her hand. "What you talking of has never been heard of." The mistress, a teenage girl said calmly and stood up from her squatting position. She faced the maid showing her true physical stature.

She had blonde shiny hair with a light smooth skin and a wavy body. She was slender and slightly taller than average. Her lips had shade of pink which complimented her complexion. Her eyes were as blue as the sky and well fitting into their socket.

"But young mistress, he brought the traitors along." The maid said again. "Send me to where he is." The mistress ordered and followed the lead of the maid.

"Don't you think of acting arrogantly." A captain amongst a group of guys clad in some black outfit like ninjas said enraged. Ethan first placed Regal down calmly as if they weren't talking to him and then Goldie. Immediately, he turned to leave again by some teleportation rune he came by.

This creates a shocking burst of lightning dealing area damage and stunning enemies on a 5-meter radius.

Ethan continued walking away from them without paying attention to what they were saying. "Even if you're that strong we've got Supreme captains stronger than you." Another person shouted from the squad. "Please, I don't have time for you right now." Ethan said as calmly as he could and continued walking away.

"Please, can you wait to meet the elders?" A female voice called out to him but Ethan still continued walking. "Stand there, or die." A voice came down and for a split second Ethan was certain his heart had stopped. "I can also fight back." was what he'd wanted to say but not now as a man clad in a black full-length cloak walked gently in gently in the air unleashing his Lumaflux. "Down." The cloaked man said silently and pointed at Ethan and instantly gravity pulled Ethan to his knees.

"This is gravity manipulation." Ethan noticed. "Now, let's talk." The cloaked man's shoes now touched the ground and with each step he took he gravity on Ethan increaed. "I'll kill you!" Ethan yelled as he raised his head but stopped as he saw a few drops of blood on the ground and touched his cheeks, only to notice that something had cut.

"How will you do so if you're already dead?" The cloak man uttered and stopped the gravity manipulation. "Although his power seem somewhat inferior as compared to that of Shawn's, he's also strong." Ethan said to himself.

"I'm Cresta and I'll be pleased if we went to elders together." The young mistress said pleadingly. "Does it look like I'm dressed to go for a date? Sorry but I reject." Ethan said without caring about anyone's feeling. "It'll be for the better if you comply to what she says." The cloaked man raised his hand to slap Ethan but evaded it by ducking. "Thank you for releasing." Ethan said and stood up to leave again.

In an instant, Cresta held Ethan's shoulders and crushed a small pebble she was holding. They both got teleported into a dark room, but the way sound travelled through surroundings told Ethan immediately- it was vast space.

"The pebbles that summon passage to the Council of the Shrouds belong to one alone. Lady Cresta, what business brings you here... and who dares stand beside you?" A composed voice broke the silence.

"Honoured elders, I come before you with the boy who captured the traitors and brought them back." Cresta said respectfully. "Cresta! I told you I didn't want anything to do with the elders." Ethan's voice thundered through the space.

"And you thought that made him worthy to stand before us?" A harsh voice cut through the space like a blade. "But…" Cresta began, trying to continue—but her words were cut short.

"Flurry of daggers!"

Steel sang through the darkness as daggers tore through the air, all aimed at Ethan with deadly precision.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The daggers flew at Ethan with blinding speed—but before they could reach him, a shadow moved in, intercepting the attack.

A figure cloaked in black stepped forward, his own blades flashing as he deflected each dagger with ease.

"Welcome, Great Elder." A figure stepped forward from behind Ethan, his presence unmistakable. The elders of the council, their voices quiet but filled with authority, bowed their heads in respect.
