The echoing voice from the top of the tallest building in City One, a magnificent structure that reaches up to pierce the clouds. The sound was so powerful that every resident in the city could hear it clearly.
"For the people of City One, it is advised to stay indoors. Make sure all doors are securely locked! For those outside, quickly find a safe place!" The voice continued, "Tonight, vampires will appear. The heroes will begin hunting them!"
The message spread rapidly.
In a house,
"Hm!?, Mom! What are you doing?" asked a child standing behind his mother, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"Today it seems vampires will appear, so I want to lock all the doors in the house," the mother replied seriously.
After that, everyone in the house quickly began locking their doors.
Outside, people shopping or gathering in cafes were forced to stay there. They couldn't go home because the vampires had already started to appear outside. Store owners quickly began locking their store doors from the back and front.
In Ana's house,
"What!?, vampires will appear?!" Ana, who had been sitting calmly on the white sofa while watching television, looked slightly startled. She got up from the sofa and walked towards the window, wanting to see what was happening outside.
"Wow, the moon is getting angry!" Ana said, her eyes fixed on the increasingly dark and eerie view outside.
"Hey Ana, what are you doing? Don't open the door, okay?!" her mother's voice sounded from upstairs, full of warning.
"Ana knows," Ana replied, sitting back on her sofa, but her mind was drifting. *I wonder what Aliff is doing?* she thought.
"Let's chat with him on WhatsApp," Ana murmured to herself.
Ana grabbed her phone that lay on the table in front of her. On the same table were some cookies and a glass of drink she had just finished.
Ana: Hey, where are you?!
Meanwhile, Aliff, who was lying on his bed reading a comic, suddenly heard a notification sound from his phone. The phone was on a small table next to his bed.
"Seems like someone is chatting?" he murmured. Aliff put down the comic he was reading and reached for his phone. He sat up on the bed.
"Hah? From Ana?"
Aliff: What's up suddenly asking like that?!
Ana was surprised to see such a quick reply.
"Hah?! He replied."
Ana: I just wanted to ask if you know that vampires will appear tonight!
Aliff: Yeah, I know that. I'm currently sitting on my bed. Are you worried about me?!
Ana: I just asked.
After replying to the message, Ana got up from her sofa and walked to the light switch. She turned off the lights in the living room and kitchen. Then, the girl went upstairs and entered her room. Next to her room was her parents' room. They seemed to be sleeping, not too concerned about the appearance of vampires tonight. They had great faith in the abilities of the heroes in this world.
Once in her room, Ana lay on her bed with the lights off. She continued the conversation with Aliff.
Ana: Hey, do you want to video call on WhatsApp?!
Aliff: What's this, do you miss my voice?"
Ana: Want to or not?!
Aliff: It's up to you.
Ana: Alright, I'll call, okay?
Aliff: Yeah.
Both Aliff and Ana got up from their beds and turned on the lights in their respective rooms. Aliff's phone screen lit up, showing Ana's face during the video call.
Ana: Hi!" Ana greeted with a bright smile.
Aliff: Hi too!" Aliff replied, fixing his slightly messy hair.
Ana noticed Aliff's expression, which seemed calm as usual.
Ana: You look like usual, huh? Seems like you're not too worried about the vampires appearing tonight, huh?"
Aliff: They're too weak to scare me," Aliff replied dismissively.
Ana shook her head.
Ana: As always, you're so arrogant. Later, if they really come to your place, then you'll be scared!"
Aliff: Unfortunately, that won't happen," Aliff smiled confidently.
Aliff: If they come to my place, I'll just kill them." His gaze softened.
Aliff: By the way, your pajamas are cute today."
Ana: Really?" Ana blushed, then her expression turned curious.
Ana: But why are you so sure you can kill them?
Through the video screen, Aliff could see Ana wearing bunny-themed pajamas complete with two fake bunny ears on her head, making her look adorable.
Aliff: As I always say," Aliff answered casually,
Aliff: it's because I'm strong."
Ana tapped her fingers on her chin.
Ana: Hmm, how about this? If you manage to kill one vampire tonight, I'll raise your salary?"
Aliff's eyes lit up.
Aliff: Wow, really?!" His face looked excited.
Aliff: If so, I'll go hunt them tonight!
Ana: Hey, where do you want to go?!" Ana was surprised to see Aliff getting up from his bed. The sound of his bedroom door opening was clear through the video call.
Aliff: Go where? Of course, to hunt the vampires!"
Ana: Hey, I was just joking, you know! And it's impossible for you to kill them, right?" Ana started to panic.
Aliff: It seems you still underestimate me,"
Now Aliff was outside his flat. He walked straight ahead towards the stairs to go down. Ana was increasingly worried seeing Aliff's seriousness.
Ana: Hey! Go back to your room now!" Ana shouted through the phone.
Aliff ignored Ana's screams that sounded from his phone. Through the video call, Ana could see Aliff descending the stairs with determined steps.
Arriving at the bottom floor, Aliff exited the flat and walked toward the back of the building. In front of him was a vast, dark forest, but Aliff could see clearly inside the forest.
"Come out, I know you're in there!" Aliff shouted in a strange language as he entered the trees.
Ana: Hey, who are you talking to? Hurry back to your room!" Ana was increasingly panicked watching Aliff enter the dark forest.
"Kekeke!!!" Suddenly an odd laugh echoed from the darkness. "I didn't expect you to know I was here. And it's a bit strange, how can you speak our language?"
Ana froze, stunned to hear that foreign voice.
*Whose voice is that! It's definitely not a human voice!?* Ana thought to herself.
Aliff was speaking in the vampire language, which made Ana not understand what he had said earlier, the vampire language being one that monsters and vampires could communicate with each other.
The vampire began to emerge from the dark forest, slowly revealing itself from behind a giant tree. A long black cloak covered almost its entire body, with a pair of glowing red eyes and sharp teeth.
Ana: Hey Aliff, who are you talking to and what language did you just use?!" Ana screamed in panic from the active video call.
The vampire looked at Aliff with a curious gaze. "This is the first time I've met a human who can speak my language. Are you also one of the heroes in this city?" it asked with interest.
Aliff looked at the creature in front of him without fear. "No, no, I'm not a hero," he replied in the same language. "I want to ask, how many vampires are appearing in this city?"
"Hmmm," the vampire laughed with a weird voice. "Kekeheheh, not too many, just 5 vampires are appearing in this city."
"Just 5?" Aliff couldn't hide the disappointed tone in his voice.
The vampire tilted its head, confused. "Why do you look so disappointed? Even if it's just 5, they are equivalent to S-rank heroes, you know. Therefore, the five of them are enough to turn all the humans in this city into vampires."
Aliff snorted dismissively. "Just say you're only left with 5, don't try to deceive like that. It seems most of you are already dead, which is why you're starting to attack humans and want to turn them into vampires on this angry moon. With this angry moon, you all become very strong tonight."
The vampire fell silent, its red eyes narrowing dangerously.
Ana: Hey, who are you talking to? Answer me!!!"
Aliff finally noticed his phone.
Aliff: Yeah, yeah, I'm answering. I'm talking to a vampire right now.
""--""
Ana: WHAT!!! A VAMPIRE!!!" Ana screamed hysterically.
Aliff: Hey, don't scream like that suddenly!" Aliff moved the phone away from his ear.
Ana: What do you mean you're talking to a vampire?! Quickly run away from there, go back to your room!!!"
Aliff glanced at the vampire in front of him, who looked increasingly impatient.
Aliff: Go back? Why should I go back? This vampire is just a weak creature," he said in human language, causing the vampire to furrow its brow in confusion.
Ana: Hey, listen to me, quickly get out of there!!!
Aliff: Hahaha, you're so worried about me, aren't you?" Aliff smiled faintly.
Aliff: Unfortunately, running is useless now. This vampire is very close to me, so it's impossible to run away."
Ana: You..." Ana looked like she was running out of words.
Aliff: Listen to me!" Aliff interrupted.
The vampire clicked its tongue in annoyance. "Hey human, how long do I have to stand here watching you talk to someone?!"
"Shut up!!!" Aliff shouted. "I'm talking to my boss here, so please be quiet."
"WHAT?!" The vampire looked angry, its fangs becoming more visible and threatening as Aliff dared to tell it to be quiet.
Aliff turned back to Ana.
As usual, Aliff's words were incomprehensible to Ana.
Aliff: Okay Ana, it seems this vampire is starting to get angry. I will begin to fight now, but before that, let's make a deal, okay?"
Ana: Huh?! What deal?!" Ana was even more confused by Aliff's calm demeanor.
Aliff: If I win against this vampire, you have to promise to raise my salary, okay?"
"You!!!" It's not important right now, your life is far more important, you should know that, Ana looked frustrated.
Aliff: Hehehe, what do you mean money isn't important?, money is very important to me, so promise, okay!"
Aliff: Alright, I'll hang up the call, see you tomorrow."
Ana: Hey wait—" Ana tried to stop him, but Aliff had already ended the call and put his phone in his pants pocket.
Aliff faced the vampire, who was losing its patience. "Alright, let's start the fight," Aliff said calmly.
The vampire grinned, showing its sharp teeth. "You seem very confident, huh? You're not afraid of me at all, huh?!"
"Yeah, yeah, what can I do?" Aliff shrugged casually. "You look very weak, which makes me not feel like losing at all. Hahahaha!!!"
Anger blazed in the vampire's red eyes. "Arrogant human!!!"
"Don't get mad like that, what I said is a fact!, hehehehe!!!"
