Chapter 133: "The Threat at Home"
It was a quiet night at Derek and Kylie's house in Los Angeles. Stormi and Aire were already asleep in their bedrooms, and Derek and Kylie were relaxing on the couch in the living room, watching a movie. The leak of information about Derek's mission in Afghanistan was still on their minds, but for now, everything seemed calm.
"Do you think this will be resolved soon?" Kylie asked, looking at Derek, who was engrossed in the movie but clearly had his mind elsewhere.
Derek looked at her, shaking his head. "I hope so. The CIA is working on it, but honestly, I don't know how long it will take to find whoever leaked the information. The most important thing is to be on the lookout for any strange movements."
Before Kylie could respond, a sharp sound of breaking glass came from the back of the house. Derek immediately went on alert, his military instincts taking over. He motioned for Kylie to stay quiet and get down.
"Kylie, get the kids and go to the safe room. Now," he whispered urgently.
"What's going on?" Kylie asked, fear evident in her voice.
"We don't have time for questions. Go now!" Derek said, already standing up and heading towards the closet where he kept his tactical gear.
Kylie, understanding the gravity of the situation, ran to the children's rooms, grabbing Stormi and Aire. Within seconds, she was moving towards the safe room they had in the house, locking the door as soon as she entered.
Meanwhile, Derek opened the closet and quickly geared up. He put on his plate carrier, adjusting it perfectly to his body. He reached for his tactical belt, where he had already inserted extra magazines and a pistol in a box holster. Finally, he grabbed his rifle, quickly checking to see if it was loaded and ready for action. He had trained for this type of situation countless times, but he never imagined that he would need to use these skills to defend his own home.
The sound of quick, muffled footsteps indicated that there were at least three intruders inside the house. They were moving carefully, trying not to make too much noise, but Derek, with his years of experience, had already noticed every detail. He crouched behind a wall and lay in wait, watching the intruders approach.
From the clothes they were wearing and the way they moved, he knew they were jihadists. The leak had put a target on their backs, and these insurgents were likely part of a sleeper cell in Los Angeles. Derek knew he couldn't let them get close to Kylie and the children.
Gripping his rifle tightly, he aimed at the first one who came into view. He took a deep breath, remaining calm, and pulled the trigger. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the house, and the insurgent immediately fell to the ground, unable to react.
This alerted the other two, who began to move faster, seeking makeshift cover. Derek retreated, moving silently to a different position, using his familiarity with the house to surprise the intruders.
One of the jihadists entered the living room, automatic rifle in hand. He was looking around, trying to locate Derek, but before he could react, Derek surprised him with a precise shot to the torso, causing him to collapse. The third insurgent, realizing he was at a disadvantage, began firing blindly through the house, trying to hit Derek.
Derek moved quickly, always maintaining an advantageous position. He knew that time was on his side and that the insurgent was getting desperate. After a few seconds, Derek managed to position himself behind him, catching him by surprise. With one swift movement, he disarmed the man and knocked him to the ground, immobilizing him.
The jihadist tried to fight, but Derek was much stronger and more experienced. Within seconds, he had completely disarmed the man and had him immobilized on the ground.
"Who sent you here?" Derek asked in a firm, controlled voice.
The insurgent just glared at him, not answering. Derek knew he wouldn't get any answers there, so he decided to neutralize him once and for all. With a quick, precise strike, he made sure the man no longer posed a threat.
Silence reigned once again in the house. Derek, still on alert, quickly checked for any more intruders, but it seemed the danger had passed. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the adrenaline that was still coursing through his veins.
"It's okay now," he said loudly, hoping Kylie would hear from the safe room.
Minutes later, Kylie carefully walked out of the safe room, still holding Aire in her arms and Stormi by her side. "Derek, what happened? Is everything okay?" she asked, visibly shaken.
Derek approached, putting the rifle aside and hugging Kylie and the children. "It's okay now. There were some insurgents, probably related to the leak. But I've got it covered. You're safe."
Kylie hugged him back, still shaking a little. "I knew this could be dangerous, but I didn't think it would get to this point. What are we going to do now?"
Derek looked at her seriously. "We need to beef up security at the house. And more importantly, I'm going to need to coordinate with the CIA and the FBI. They need to investigate this cell here in Los Angeles. If they were willing to come to our house, there might be more of them out there."
Kylie nodded, still trying to process everything that had happened. "Okay, whatever you need to do, we'll do. I just want everyone to be safe."
Derek smiled softly, kissing her forehead. "I won't let anything happen to you. Never."
He then picked up the phone and began making the necessary calls, contacting both the FBI and his old contacts at the CIA. Within an hour, the house was surrounded by federal agents, who began investigating the scene and disposing of the bodies of the intruders.
Derek remained outside, talking to the agents and providing details of what had happened. Later that night, as the FBI continued their investigation, Derek and Kylie sat together on the couch, now with the children asleep again.
"You were amazing," Kylie said, looking at him in awe. "You saved us."
Derek smiled, but there was a shadow of worry in his eyes. "It was what I had to do. But this isn't over. I'm going to make sure those guys don't come back. And I'm going to protect our family, always."
Kylie took his hand. "I know you will. And I trust you."
And in that moment, despite the danger, they knew that together, they would face whatever threat came their way.
Chapter 134: "Family and Protection"
The morning after the invasion was a relief for Derek and Kylie. With the threat neutralized and security reinforced at the house, they decided to take Stormi and Aire to the house of Kris Jenner, Kylie's mother, where her sisters would also be. The idea was to keep the children in a safe and familiar environment while Derek dealt with the situation.
When they arrived at Kris' mansion, they were immediately greeted. Kris had a worried expression on her face. Kylie's sisters, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Kendall, were all gathered in the living room, clearly nervous about what they had heard. As soon as they saw Kylie with the children and Derek, they ran to hug their sister.
"Kylie! Thank God you're okay!" Kim exclaimed, pulling Kylie into a tight hug.
Kourtney picked Stormi up and, in a soft voice, said: "We're so relieved that you're safe. I can't imagine the scare you went through."
Kylie, still a little shaken, sighed as she sat on the couch, stroking Aire's hair. "It was scary, but Derek acted quickly. If he hadn't been so amazing, I don't know what would have happened."
Derek stood near the door, his gaze serious and watchful. He didn't want to interrupt the sisters' moment, but he knew he would need to explain the situation at some point.
Kris approached him, placing a hand on his arm. "Derek, how could this happen? How did they manage to find you?" Kris asked, clearly shaken.
She had been through a lot of public drama, but nothing that would put her family's lives at risk like this.
Derek took a deep breath before answering. "It was because of the leak of information about my mission in Afghanistan. WikiLeaks released sensitive details about the operation, including photos of me. It put a target on our backs. These insurgents were part of a sleeper cell in Los Angeles. They came after us, but I was able to neutralize the threat before they got to Kylie and the kids."
Khloé, who was standing next to Kris, looked incredulous. "Wait a minute... You mean these guys broke into your house because someone leaked confidential information about a mission you did?"
Derek nodded, his expression tense.
"Exactly. And now I'm going to hold WikiLeaks accountable for this. If they hadn't released this information, this break-in would never have happened."
Kendall, who had been quieter, came closer and looked at him. "Derek, do you think they'll try again? That your family is still in danger?"
Derek thought for a moment, choosing his words carefully.
"Look, I've already taken steps to beef up the security at our home. I'm also in contact with the FBI and CIA, who are investigating the cell. But we need to be vigilant. This wasn't a coincidence, and these guys could try something again, especially with this leak getting attention."
Kim shook her head in outrage. "I can't believe these organizations can just leak this kind of information without thinking about the consequences. You need to sue them, Derek. This can't go unpunished."
"I'm already planning my next steps," Derek replied firmly. "I'm in contact with my lawyers and the CIA. I'm going to make sure WikiLeaks is held accountable for this. They crossed the line by putting my family at risk."
Kylie, who had been listening intently, looked at Derek with admiration. She knew he would always take the necessary steps to protect them, but what he was facing now was something much bigger and more complicated than any ordinary threat.
"Derek... do you really think we can do anything against an organization like WikiLeaks?"
Derek sat down next to her and held her hand, his gaze determined. "I won't stop until we get justice. They think they can leak information without consequences, but this time, the consequences almost cost us our lives. This can't go unnoticed."
Kris nodded, trying to remain calm despite the situation. "If you need anything, financial support, lawyers, whatever, Derek, we're here. This family will come together to make sure you're safe."
Kylie's sisters murmured in agreement, showing their support. Stormi, still in Kourtney's lap, seemed calm, oblivious to the chaos that had happened the night before, while Aire played with a small toy in Kylie's hands.
Khloé, always direct, crossed her arms and looked at Derek curiously. "So, what was this mission that leaked? I know you probably can't talk about it much, but right now I'm curious."
Derek smiled slightly, but his eyes showed the seriousness of the matter. "Unfortunately, I can't give you too many details. It was an undercover operation I did for the CIA in Afghanistan. The leaked photos show a part of the mission where I was disguised as a local, wearing clothes traditional and with a full beard. It was a mission to neutralize a terrorist cell, but it was extremely sensitive. To this day, almost no one knew it had happened... until the leak."
Kendall frowned. "So this all happened because of something you did years ago? It's crazy to think how these things can come back to light like this."
Derek nodded.
"Yes, and that's exactly why it's so dangerous to leak this kind of information. These missions aren't just about who's involved. They affect national security, and now they've directly affected our family."
Kylie looked at her sisters and mother, seeing the concern on their faces. "I know this all sounds scary, but I trust Derek. He'll do whatever it takes to protect us. And I'll do what I can to support him."
Kris smiled softly, trying to comfort her daughter. "You're strong, Kylie, and we're here for you, too. And Derek, you know you have our full support. The important thing is that you're safe now, and we're going to make sure it stays that way."
Derek nodded, grateful for the Kardashian-Jenner family's support. He knew the legal battle against WikiLeaks would be long and difficult, but his priority right now was making sure his family remained safe.
As the conversation continued, Derek felt determined. He looked at Stormi, who was now playing with a doll in Kourtney's lap, and Aire, who was giggling with a toy in Kylie's hands. His mission had changed. Now, more than ever, he knew that his greatest responsibility was not just to protect the country, but to protect his family.
He knew he would not rest until everyone who put his family at risk was held accountable. And with the support of Kylie and the people around him, he had the strength he needed to face whatever challenge lay ahead.
Chapter 135: "Media Frenzy"
The morning after the break-in incident, the media was in an uproar. Social media, news sites, and tabloids were filled with videos, photos, and speculation. The images of the insurgents being neutralized by Derek, captured on the home's security cameras, and the multiple police and FBI cars surrounding Derek and Kylie Jenner's home dominated the headlines.
Derek sat in Kris's kitchen, watching the news unfold on the television. Beside him, Kylie held Stormi in her lap, trying to keep her distracted while she, too, took in what was happening. The news showed aerial shots of their home being cordoned off by the police, with yellow tape surrounding the property and uniformed officers coming and going.
"Now in the morning news, shocking footage of the home invasion of Kylie Jenner and her husband Derek Rogan has surfaced. The security video shows Rogan, a former US Special Forces operative, neutralizing the intruders who sources say were part of a sleeper terrorist cell in Los Angeles. Further details about the incident are still being released, but the FBI and LAPD remain on scene to investigate."
The report then showed short clips of Derek moving quickly during the invasion, wielding a rifle and wearing tactical gear. Every move was being analyzed, as if it were an episode of an action movie, and commentators were deep in speculation about what had motivated the attack.
"Sources close to the scene suggest that this attack was motivated by the recent leak of classified information about Derek Rogan's secret mission in Afghanistan. WikiLeaks released footage that linked Rogan to an undercover CIA operation, putting him and his family at risk. Now, the feds are investigating the extent of the threat."
Kylie bit her lip, her eyes worried. "This is getting out of hand so fast, Derek. I don't know how we're going to deal with this backlash. I just wish the kids didn't have to see all of this."
Derek looked at her with a reassuring look, but his eyes were also filled with concern.
"We're going to deal with this, Kylie. I've already contacted my lawyers, and the FBI is doing everything they can to make sure there are no more threats. I just wish this situation never got to this point. But we're going to get through this."
As they talked, Kris walked into the kitchen, her phone in hand, her expression serious.
"I've had over twenty calls from magazines and TV shows, all wanting a statement. I've already instructed my media team to keep as many of them out of our control as possible, but it's only a matter of time before this gets out of hand."
Kim, who was standing next to Kris, nodded in agreement. "TMZ is already talking about this nonstop. They're speculating that you're going to sue WikiLeaks, which I think is a good idea. But the paparazzi won't leave you alone, Derek. They're out for blood."
"In more news, sources within the FBI suggest that the break-in may be connected to other threats Rogan and his family have received following the leak of classified information. The footage shows Rogan, a former Marine and former MARSOC operator, in action, defending his family with precision and speed. Experts say his military training was key to his successful defense of the property. However, the question remains: How deep did this terrorist cell infiltrate Los Angeles? And how many more could be behind this attack?"
Kylie frowned as the footage replayed on TV. "They're turning this into a horror show. They're talking about our safety like it's a spectacle, and no one cares about the trauma this is causing the kids. I mean, they were there, Derek! Stormi and Aire were home."
Derek, always calm and methodical, placed his hand over Kylie's.
"I know, and that's why I'm going to fix this. We already have extra security and a special team monitoring any suspicious activity around our house. But unfortunately, you know how the media works. They're going to feed on this as long as they can."
As the argument continued in the kitchen, Kris, always with her mind on protecting her family, looked at Derek and Kylie.
"We need to think about how to control the narrative. The last thing we want is for people to see you as vulnerable. If the public starts to think you're being targeted, it's just going to bring more unwanted attention."
Kylie nodded. "I don't want our personal life to become a circus, but we can't just hide away either. And if we stay silent, the speculation will only grow."
Derek knew that this was one of the biggest challenges of being connected to such a famous family. He was used to secrecy, discretion and to shadow operations. Now, he was facing something completely different: an unprecedented invasion of privacy, with the entire world watching.
Kim, ever practical, suggested, "Maybe you should give a controlled statement, something that addresses the incident without giving too many details. You don't have to mention the mission or the insurgents, but you can emphasize that the situation is under control and that you are cooperating with authorities."
Derek mulled the idea over. "I can talk to my lawyer and see how we can formulate something. We can't give details about the mission or confirm much of what's being speculated, but a simple statement might help calm things down."
"We've recently learned that Derek Rogan, Kylie Jenner's husband, was recently decorated in a private ceremony at CIA headquarters, which has only fueled speculation about his connections to covert operations. The connection between the leak of classified information and the attack on his home raises concerns about the safety of celebrities who, in addition to living in the spotlight, are now at the center of a national security issue."
Kendall, who had been quiet until then, watching the repercussions on television, finally spoke.
"Whatever you decide, know that we are here to support you. I know this kind of exposure is the opposite of what you, Derek, always wanted, but we will deal with it together."
Kylie smiled at her sister, feeling the weight of the situation ease a little with the support of her family. "Thank you, Kendall. I think we will need all the support we can get."
By late morning, the calls from the media continued to increase. TV shows, gossip sites and even more serious news channels were seeking more information.
Derek knew that the next few days would be intense, with all the attention focused on his family. But he also knew that, with the determination he always had in the most dangerous missions, he would do whatever it took to protect Kylie, Stormi and Aire.
And with the support of the Kardashian-Jenner family, he would face this challenge with his head held high. The battle was now not just against insurgents or physical threats, but also against the devastating power of the media and public opinion.
