Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: The Red Lotus Staff, the Ashen Witch! Morril

"Vroom—vroom—"

Countless black magic boxes gathered together, and the numerous pairs of gray wings vibrated the air. From a distance, it looked like a swarm of chaotic fruit flies.

Ronan watched as the young wizard Donnie dove headfirst into the "swarm of fruit flies," his staff swirling. A thick pure white light wall rose around him, blocking the flying magic boxes.

His speed was incredible, like an arrow shot from a bow, precisely targeting the only golden glimmer in the middle of the black box swarm, rapidly closing in.

However, the beautifully designed golden magic box was far more agile than expected.

As soon as Donnie entered the swarm of magic boxes, the golden box fluttered its wings and actively flew toward the giant magic box creature above.

Donnie's approach had long attracted the attention of the giant magic box creature. Losing its original target, the culprit who had awakened it from the statue—**Dolter**, the giant magic box monster naturally transferred all its "hate" to Donnie.

"Whoosh—"

Ronan watched as the giant magic box creature suddenly dipped its body down, its terrifying mouth—which could probably split the entire box in half if it had ears—snapped viciously at Donnie.

From a distance, Ronan saw Donnie, his white wings flaring out, quickly producing several scroll-like items from his hands, tearing them open.

In an instant, a pure white sun seemed to appear above his hand, the dense, almost tangible white energy light directly confronting the giant magic box's enormous mouth, as if it had bitten into a massive white light bulb.

Immediately, Donnie, with his white wings flapping, swiftly flew out from beneath the giant magic box monster's mouth, taking advantage of the creature's momentary struggle with the white light mass. He quickly sheathed his staff and drew a small gray bow, no bigger than a palm.

Had it not been for the strange runes flashing on the small bow, it would have seemed like a child's toy in his hands.

Donnie quickly pulled the bowstring back, and the white energy arrows naturally formed. With a release of the string, they rapidly shot forward.

Donnie fired three arrows in quick succession. Even from a distance, Ronan could clearly see that after the third arrow, Donnie's once rosy face turned pale, showing clear signs of mental exhaustion.

The three white arrows fired from the small bow began to chase after the golden magic box.

The golden box was incredibly fast, and so were the three white arrows. The speed was so high that the human eye could barely follow, but Ronan could see the golden glow and the three white streaks chasing each other in mid-air.

As the three white arrows surrounded and blocked the golden magic box, Ronan narrowed his eyes.

The space around him seemed to shatter like a mirror, and his still form once again flickered forward rapidly.

He had initially planned to observe, but Donnie's actions far surpassed his expectations. Seeing that Donnie was about to catch the golden magic box, Ronan knew he couldn't just sit by and watch him take the prize.

Though Grace's influence was present, Donnie had been rude to him earlier. Ronan had no reservations about competing for the treasure.

Just as Ronan was about to enter the fray and his mental power surged, preparing to cast a spell, suddenly—

"Hee-hee—"

A woman's light laugh suddenly sounded in his ears.

At that moment, an overwhelming sense of danger and terror surged in Ronan's heart.

His arms and the hair on his back stood on end in an instant.

Instinctively, Ronan froze in place.

Before he could sense the source of the laughter, a powerful magical force erupted beside him.

A fiery red flash, like magma erupting from the deepest part of an ancient volcano, with a terrifying heat wave that could melt anything, whizzed past him less than five meters in front.

"Boom! Boom!"

The terrifying heatwave swept everything, following the trajectory of the flames, instantly piercing the white light ball that had been holding the giant magic box in place, then slamming directly into Donnie, who was holding the tiny bow.

Ronan heard Donnie's strange scream and then saw a blinding burst of white light from his body, more intense than before, but in less than a second, he was engulfed by the pure fire wave.

The terrifying red-hot firewave extended far beyond Donnie, leaving a trail of molten metal behind, as if the metal buildings left by the **Mechanical Heart** dwarves melted like wax, creating an alarming, long trail of liquid metal.

The firewave devoured countless metal golems, metal elemental life forms, and even the winged black magic boxes, sweeping through the chaotic battle and clearing a large portion of it.

Even the golden magic box seemed to be frightened, and with a "whoosh," it darted toward the giant magic box monster, hiding behind it.

Ronan's expression turned serious as he gently ran his hand over his living steel armor, feeling the molten traces on its surface.

At the far end of the firewave's path, a ball of crimson fire seemed to burn and bloom, creating a sense of unexpected beauty.

Within that fireball, a delicate rose-colored woman's staff, about half a meter long, hovered quietly.

"Whoosh—Whoosh—Whoosh—"

Loud, heavy breathing came from not far from Ronan's side.

Ronan turned and was surprised to see that Donnie, the young wizard who had been engulfed by the firewave, was still alive.

Now standing with a pale face in a spot of empty space, his pure white wings were now just half melted, and his moon-white robe was burned with traces of fire, making him look thoroughly disheveled and no longer the proud, composed figure he once was.

What truly caught Ronan's attention was Donnie's eyes.

At this moment, Donnie's eyes were filled with a deep, almost unshakable fear, like a rabbit terrified beyond measure, muttering the same words repeatedly.

"The **Red Lotus Staff**! She's here! She's here!!"

After muttering incoherently for a moment, Donnie glanced at Ronan, then showed no further interest. He simply turned and began retreating.

At this point, Grace and the silver-haired wizard caught up.

Grace, protected by another third-tier wizard, stood at a distance, while the silver-haired wizard quickly flashed over to Ronan's side, her face solemn, and her tone anxious as she urged him, "We need to leave now! Once she arrives... if we don't leave now, we won't have another chance!"

"She?" Ronan's eyes narrowed, glancing at the beautiful staff wrapped in flames in the distance, unable to stop himself from asking, "The owner of the staff? Who is it?"

The silver-haired wizard looked up, scanning the surroundings, her expression hardening as she gritted her teeth and spoke in a low voice, "The **Ashen Witch Morril**!

She has unmatched talent and terrifying power far beyond her peers. She's capricious and ruthless. The key is, she's the lifelong enemy of Princess Selena, and her appearance here is clearly aimed at Princess Grace."

"The **Ashen Witch Morril**..."

Ronan's expression flickered slightly.

After answering his question, the silver-haired wizard looked at him deeply, then turned and left.

But at that moment, a lively, melodious voice suddenly rang out from the scene.

"Are you the new toy of the dead-faced guy? You don't seem special or interesting at all! Why are you trembling?"

"I won't be angry if you cry, darling. I promise, be good."

The voice was clear, sweet, and melodious, more pleasing than a hundred larks. It sounded like a long string of crystal bells ringing in the wind, creating an indescribable sense of joy.

However, as soon as the voice sounded, Ronan saw the silver-haired wizard's face turn ashen, her body stiffening, and her pale lips trembling as she whispered, "She's here."

Ronan, along with the silver-haired wizard, slowly turned to look in a certain direction.

In the distance, near where Grace stood, a new figure had appeared.

A petite young girl.

She wore an oversized wizard hat, completely mismatched with her size, and under the hat, her long rose-colored hair flowed like waves.

Her nearly flawless face, her black robe embroidered with flame flowers, and the robe's hem reaching almost to her waist, paired with her fair, slender legs, made her the most beautiful witch Ronan had ever seen, even more so than Kosty.

The pure innocence and romanticism of the girl, combined with an enchanting allure that seemed to awaken primal desires, created a perfect blend of opposing qualities in one person.

This girl, who had appeared from nowhere, was now playfully pinching Grace's face with her slender, fair fingers, twisting it as if it were dough.

The young wizard Donnie and the other third-tier wizard from the **Court of Life** stood beside them, looking like quails in fear, shrinking their shoulders and not daring to make a sound.

It was clear the girl was using quite a bit of force, as Grace's face had turned red from the pinching, and her crystal glasses were nearly falling off. Her eyes were filled with watery grievance.

Yet Grace didn't move, tightly pressing her lips together, looking as if she feared crying out.

"Princess Grace!"

The silver-haired wizard's lips trembled as she gazed at Grace's helpless expression, filled with humiliation and anger, but frozen in place by immense fear, unable to move even a little. She could only weakly call out.

Suddenly, as if sensing something, she turned sharply and was stunned.

Ronan, who had been standing beside her, had disappeared.

Her eyes widened, and her entire body froze in place.

"You're not crying! Why don't you cry if it hurts? Come on, cry out!"

The girl's hands were tightly squeezing Grace's face, as though turning it into clay, kneading it mercilessly.

But no matter how she tried to act fierce or "threatening," Grace remained silent, her trembling body betraying her fear, but she kept her lips tightly shut.

"How boring..."

The girl suddenly lost all interest and released her grip on Grace's face.

"Just like that dead-faced **Selena**. No wonder she likes you so much."

The girl mumbled, clapped her hands, and was just about to shift her gaze away from Grace.

Suddenly, a silver-white metallic tendril appeared out of thin air beside her.

The girl's eyes brightened, and she let out a soft "Ah!" before reaching out to grab the tendril.

But the silver-white metal tendril was faster than her. It "whooshed" and wrapped around Grace's waist, pulling her swiftly to the side.

The girl, seeming to find something amusing, smiled as she saw Grace being pulled away, but in the next moment, everything exploded into red sparks, disappearing in an instant.

Ronan's silver-white armor, deeper than mercury but with a mirror-like sheen, enveloped him completely.

He stood in mid-air, controlling the metal tendrils to pull Grace away from the "tormenting claws" of the girl.

This sudden appearance of the **Ashen Witch** had frightened the third-tier wizards from the **Court of Life** so much that they didn't dare to move, not even to resist.

"Is she really that terrifying?"

Ronan could vaguely sense that her mental power was far stronger than the average third-tier wizard, but it hadn't yet reached the fourth-tier level.

If she hadn't reached the fourth-tier, it was manageable. After all, he had fought against peak third-tier wizards, like **Igneous**, leader of the **Resurrection Society**.

He couldn't just stand by and watch Grace, a girl, be treated like a toy by someone else—even if that someone was also a woman.

As the **Ashen Witch**, the witch girl exploded into red sparks and vanished, Ronan immediately sharpened his senses, with **Eye of Truth** glowing brightly.

He knew she would soon come for him, but he hadn't expected her to be so fast.

Almost at the instant she disappeared, Ronan felt a chilling sense of crisis.

A small, white hand, almost without any hesitation, reached out from behind him, as if it was going to gently tap his shoulder.

"Cling!"

Ronan's back suddenly erupted with numerous sharp, sword-like spikes, like turning into a giant hedgehog.

However, this attack achieved nothing, only resulting in a soft, muffled laugh from the girl.

"Hee-hee."

An indescribable wave of heat descended from above.

In an instant, Ronan felt a subtle pain on his shoulder, neck, and cheek.

The metal armor covering him began to melt rapidly, with no resistance against the unexpected heat wave.

It was not that Ronan had never fought against fire magic wizards.

**Igneous**, the leader of the **Resurrection Society**, was a powerful fire mage with ancient **Inferno Demon** blood, and his fire magic was dozens of times stronger than that of an ordinary fire wizard.

But even **Igneous**, with his bloodline power fully activated, had never released a fire spell anywhere near as hot as what Ronan was feeling now.

It was almost unimaginable!

"Whoosh—"

Ronan's figure disappeared like a mirage.

The beautiful, rose-colored woman's staff, wrapped in **Red Lotus**-shaped flames, paused its strike the moment he disappeared, quickly shooting off in another direction.

Almost as soon as Ronan reappeared from his short-distance spatial teleportation, the flaming staff once again came crashing down toward him.

The terrifying firepower of the staff had not yet fallen, but it already caused black high-temperature distortions in the air. It was impossible to describe the intense heat—if the force landed, it wouldn't even leave magma behind, and the metal and rocks beneath would evaporate directly.

"Can you accurately predict my teleportation landing point?"

"Not just because the teleportation distance is too short..."

Ronan faced the incoming flaming staff, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind like lightning. The **Eye of Truth** on his forehead glowed as he quickly locked onto a figure.

Or rather, the figure didn't seem to be hiding at all.

"Let's see!"

As the flaming staff was about to strike Ronan's face, his metallic mask even dripping with molten metal, Ronan's calm blue eyes suddenly flashed with intense brilliance.

In the next moment, his silver-white metal armor automatically shattered, revealing his tall, handsome form.

The heat wave from the staff was so intense that Ronan's brown hair curled slightly, yet his expression remained calm as he opened his arms, as though he had completely given up on resisting and was prepared to embrace the flaming staff's strike.

Not far away, the girl, who had been sitting cross-legged in mid-air, watching with interest, suddenly saw Ronan's reaction, her face lighting up with curiosity.

Just as she was wondering how Ronan would handle the situation, a silver-white light that resembled a mirror silently appeared around her.

"Ah!"

The girl let out a small gasp, reaching for the air as though she was about to stand up.

However, the silver-white metal moved faster than she could, and in an instant, it enveloped her completely, turning into a massive, solid silver mirror that trapped her inside.
