"Great job, everyone." Spider-Man was wearing a firefighter's helmet at the moment and high-fiving the firefighters around him.
The people nearby applauded him and the Black Spider enthusiastically. Even George, who hated masked vigilantes, showed a look of approval on his face.
The people's cheers echoed through Times Square, where the electricity was gradually being restored, and everyone showed their admiration for the two.
"I love you all too." Spider-Man waved at them, enjoying the people's affection after saving the world, blowing kisses their way.
After making sure everything was okay, the Black Spider said goodbye and left the scene.
"Ahh~ So sleepy… I need to get back and crash…" Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a large black figure.
It was Venom.
Venom noticed the Black Spider looking at him, so he turned and ran, using black tendrils that mimicked webs to swing between buildings.
"Is he trying to lead me somewhere?" The Black Spider was a little confused by what he was seeing and immediately followed Venom.
Soon after, Venom arrived in an open area, turned around, and waited for the Black Spider to arrive.
"So? Are you setting some kind of ambush for me?" The Black Spider landed lightly on the ground and looked at Venom with interest.
"We're going to destroy your little spider gang, and there's nothing you can do to stop us…"
"Really? We'll see about that."
The Black Spider wasn't interested in hearing nonsense.
Just as he was about to attack Venom, dozens of pumpkin-shaped bombs fell from the sky and exploded with a bang, filling the entire open area with thick white smoke.
When the Black Spider looked up, he saw the Green Goblin carrying Venom away.
Under the mask, Yuri frowned at the sight.
Things were getting out of control.
"What the hell… What are you guys planning?"
---
Early the next morning, Yuri told Peter, Gwen, and Felicia what had happened the previous night and warned them to stay alert.
For the rest of the day, they kept a close ear on the police radio.
That would help them know immediately if anything happened.
"Times Square is under attack again!"
"The Osborn Mansion is under attack too!"
"Brooklyn as well!"
The four looked at each other and quickly split up. Peter went to Times Square, Gwen and Felicia headed to Brooklyn, while Yuri went to the Osborn Mansion.
Times Square.
"Damn spider!" For some unknown reason, Doctor Octopus, who had just gotten out of prison, was running wildly through the street, smashing several cars with his mechanical tentacles.
One of the cars flew toward a woman who was running. Seeing the car coming her way, the woman panicked, tripped, and twisted her ankle.
But fortunately for her, just as the car was about to crush her, a red-and-blue figure caught her and got her out of there.
"I got you!"
The woman, Mary Jane, slowly opened her eyes and found herself in the arms of the person she'd been thinking about. She said joyfully, "Spider-Man!"
"MJ, find a place to hide." Peter looked at Mary Jane affectionately and kissed her forehead through the mask.
Just two days ago, they had officially gotten together.
After Mary Jane left, Peter looked at Otto Octavius—better known as Doctor Octopus.
"Doctor Otto!"
"..." Octopus heard Peter's shout. He paused for a moment before turning around, his expression suddenly helpless: "I didn't expect Spider-Man to be you."
Fortunately, Peter had once been Otto's student and his only assistant. Peter had always stood out to Otto, who had gradually begun losing his will to keep going.
"I'm sorry, Peter. I'm being forced… I have no choice." The current Otto may have been slowly corrupted and was starting to develop a darker personality.
"As long as I kill Norman, everything will be fine, and everything that belongs to me will return."
Madness gleamed in Otto's eyes—he deeply desired to kill Norman.
"I won't let you do that, Dr. Octavius." Peter bent forward and narrowed his eyes, ready to take Otto down.
"Enough! You think you can stop me?!" Otto roared. He had never imagined his student would try to stop him.
Peter didn't think there was anything wrong with that. He shook his head and said to Otto, "Dr. Octavius, there's still time to turn back."
"No, Peter… There's no time left."
