Chapter 18 - Learning Experience

- Nima

"Look are you sure you want to go, you just got back a little while ago, I don't want you pushing yourself."

"Dad please, I'm fine I promise, matter of fact I'm better than fine. I know you're worried but you don't have to be, I'll be ok."

"Ugh, fine. I'll listen to you, let's go, and please be careful."

"I will, I promise."

He sighed then shook his head, then we headed out the door to meet with King Vash, whom was waiting outside.

Walking up we saw him checking his watch then breathing deeply, then when he finally saw us he walked our way.

"You know we're already late right, that not something that usually happens to someone with my skills set."

"Right, sorry about that sir."

I rubbed the back of my neck as I said this, I know he understood while we were late, but it still was something that shouldn't have happened.

"It's fine, let's just go. Oh and try to keep your new friend on a leash ok, he's new here so try not to cause trouble."

"Right, we'll do our best."

"Good let's go."

Walking forward a distortion opened up infront of us creating a portal, walking through we caught the tail end of a fight that had taken place between two of the kings.

They had just finished up and began talking and greeting one another like it never happened. I guess that's just how they act with one another, must be how they show their love and test their strength.

(Did you see that Sirius, he had the other guy pinned to on the ground and made him submit. From what I've heard their both really strong, and from that I'm guessing that one must be Frost and the other is Soul.)

(What makes you think that.)

(Well, from what I've heard Frost is supposed to be the strongest with Dre being close second or maybe even stronger, he doesn't fight as often so it's hard to say for him. But I hear Soul is more violent so it makes sense for him to challenge Frost.)

Watching them as they talked I was amazed at their strength and wondered how I would last against the two. Frost was the one I was worried about, I let myself get these thoughts stuck in my head because of a joke lord Vash made.

As I was watching them something happened to my eyes, for a seconds they flickered changing. It was only for a moment but I swear I'd seen something that I'd never witnessed before.

(Hey did you... see that.)

(See what? Sorry I was thinking I wasn't really looking around.)

(Oh.., well nevermind then. Come on everyone's heading inside.)

What was that?

We were led through the building by one of the one of Frost's people, they were strong I could tell. They were probably set in place to watch us just in case something were to go down, and the positioning of the guy who met us with him was behind us as well, keeping watch, he was the strongest one.

As we were walking Sirius noticed a shift in the air before I did, it was Frost again. He was in two places at once, so that being his ability was should've been our first thought, but we knew better. It just didn't fit with what we had seen outside.

There was something wrapped around Soul's neck out there, and it sure as hell wasn't some hand from a clone or something.

We listened in on his conversation with the other two, and as it turns out we weren't the only ones.

The guy with the glasses, Jayden, apparently he keeps tabs on everyone's abilities and strengths, and possibly weaknesses. He's some kind of genius who can calculate the odds of winning and losing, among other things.

Frost willingly gave him the information about himself, without even hesitating. He updated his information on the tablet willingly giving his potential enemy what they needed to find a way to defeat him.

If I could get my hands on that tablet, I could be ready for anything they threw at me.

As we walked they talked of a man whom had visited here not to long ago, in an attempt to save him from his own power he lost his life. Yet somehow the power is still active and being kept safe.

(I've never heard of something like that, have you.)

(Can't say that I have, my father and mother had me study a lot of things growing up. Being the next in line to represent all celestials I needed to be knowledgeable on many things, but this isn't one of those things Kai.)

We thought about it some more before deciding the only way we would find out was if we asked.

We were guided into a room where we were given refreshments with comfortable chair and couches to sit on. Frost sat at the head with Dre beside him, I decided to keep my distance sitting on the far end from the two near Jayden.

(Alright I've decided, I'm doing it.)

(What... what're you talking about?!?)

I felt a small split between our powers as Sirius decided to materialize himself.

(Wait whatever you're thinking don't do it!)

(Look I've been watching, listening. I can read your thoughts remember I can tell who it was you're weary of. I'm not sure why but that guy Frost scares you more than anyone here, but I do know my end of the deal was to protect you no matter what and if he's who scares you then I won't hold back!!)

--

If there was ever any evidence of the difference in power between that of the kings and those who served, or followed them this was it.

The kings held powers and strength beyond what most could comprehend, and yet there were always fools who wished to challenge them.

Still holding onto the face of Sirius, Frost lifted him up to eye level. Looking him in the eyes he smiled, the boy was still conscious. That by itself showed Frost he would be somewhat useful in a fight.

"And what's your name."

Nima looked beside him with wide eyes he hadn't expected a fight let alone for it to had turned sour so quickly. Sirius had just manifested and yet he was already being held up by his hair with a busted lip that was already healing.

"How did you..."

"You know it's rude to attempt an attack on someone in their own home, you are my guest I expect you to behave like it."

Letting go of Sirius he fell onto his hands and knees, Frost looked down at him then walked away.

"Vash, keep your people in check please, I'd hate to stain this room with his blood."

"I warned them before coming, so whatever happens is on them."

Sirius stood up wiping the blood off his lip, then walked up behind Frost. Standing behind him he clenched his fist but decided to take a breath calming himself.

"My name is Sirius Starr, I am a celestial from the divine world sworn to aid Nima in his challenges. Your name is Frost correct."

Frost turned to look at him, seeing his appearance and and the way he spoke he knew he wasn't just some brute, which begged to question why attack him without reason.

"Correct I am Frost, Prince of Calamity, am I right to assume you had awoken into your new power just before your pact."

Sirius' eyes opened wide at this question.

"How did you know that.., yes I did."

"Hmm I can tell, you're strong but you're not at your full potential yet. I've met a few celestials and they were unbelievably strong, but you... you seem to be lacking the ability to reach your true strength, for right now at least."

Sirius listened intently as he spoke, not missing a single word or detail. Nima also paid attention, if what he said was true then that also meant he himself hadn't seen his true power.

"But give it time, you won't be held back for much longer. Get used to your body and existence in this world and you will have all that you need to unlock that potential."

Frost turned to walk back to his seat, he looked at Dre who gave him a nod of approval. Frost could be pretty unorthodox at times, so he was relieved to that he hadn't out right beat the two half to death for that little stunt.

"Wait, you said you've met other celestials right. Have you ever met my parents, Atlas and Tara Starr, their the strongest beings to ever exist so I'm sure you would remember them if you did."

"Sorry kid can't say that I have, I'm assure you if they did appear i would be the first to know. But I will say just because they're the strongest in your world doesn't mean they're the strongest in ours."

Nima just watched as they talked, wondering what his parents were like, if they were really that strong why hadn't they been the ones to help them.

"But since you boast so much about them how about this, I help you learn a few new tricks and we'll even have ourselves a little show if you're up for it of course Dre."

"It's fine with me, but don't you think it falls on his leader to teach him."

Dre looked over at Vash who just shrugged and gestured for them to go ahead.

"What do you say boys?"

"Deal/Deal."

"Good, let's help you live up to their legacy."
