The officer helplessly said, "The place where you were dining just happens to have no surveillance cameras, so there's no way to prove your innocence. Now they are adamantly insisting it was you who started the altercation, and that man's injuries do look more serious. So..."
Erin South Martin's eyes widened in astonishment.
Kiera just glanced at Tom Davis, who immediately said, "Okay, officer, we will compensate. It's a minor matter, I'll take care of it..."
Tom Davis went off to the side with the officer.
