Medeia hadn't given a clear answer about whether she'd ban him from kissing her or not, but deep down, she knew it would be impossible to stay away from his lips.
"Just don't ever think about eating bugs again," she said firmly.
"I won't! I promise!" Lucian said quickly, almost like his life depended on it.
Medeia moved a little closer to the fur monsters, but still kept a safe distance from the wall. The creatures were still asleep, even after all the noise she'd made earlier. It was like they couldn't hear a thing.
"How are we supposed to learn anything about them if all we see is them sleeping?" Medeia muttered, then picked up a small rock from the ground. "Let's wake one of them up."
Lucian hadn't even said a word yet, but Medeia had already tossed the pebble at one of the fur monsters. Not once, but three times in a row until the creature finally stirred and began to slowly open its eyes.
