Chapter 148 - The LOV Easter part 1

Part 1: An Unholy Easter Gathering

The dingy, smoke-filled bar was the League of Villains' usual haunt. Kurogiri polished glasses with unnatural precision behind the counter, his misty form a constant, silent presence. Shigaraki, scratching incessantly at his neck, nursed a lukewarm beer, his red eyes fixed on the flickering television screen. Dabi leaned against the wall, arms crossed, a perpetual sneer etched on his scarred face. All For One, a looming figure even when seated, surveyed the scene with an unnervingly calm demeanor.

Toga, bouncing on the balls of her feet, was the only member radiating any real energy. Her wide, manic grin was unsettling against the backdrop of villainous gloom. Twice, as usual, was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. "Let's go shopping! It'll be fun!" he shouted, then immediately contradicted himself, "Shopping is the worst! Stay here!" Spinner, hunched over in a corner, meticulously sharpened the blades of his assortment of knives, muttering something about Stain's unwavering principles. Mr. Compress, ever the showman, practiced sleight-of-hand tricks with a deck of cards, his movements fluid and practiced.

"Another boring day," Toga chirped, shattering the uneasy silence. "I'm so boooored! Hey, Shigaraki, wanna play a game?"

Shigaraki didn't even glance her way. "Leave me alone, Toga. I'm trying to concentrate on this… utter garbage." He gestured at the news report droning on about All Might's legacy and the rise of young heroes.

Toga pouted. "Fine! Then I'll ask someone else! Dabi, wanna play a game?"

Dabi's sneer deepened. "If your idea of a game involves setting things on fire, maybe. Otherwise, no."

"Oh, come on, Dabi, don't be such a grump!" Toga skipped over to Kurogiri. "Kurogiri, you're always so polite. Wanna play a game with me?"

Kurogiri paused in his cleaning, his yellow eyes gleaming faintly in the dim light. "I am afraid I am occupied, Toga. Perhaps later."

Frustrated, Toga slumped onto a bar stool, her usual exuberance momentarily dampened. "Ugh, everyone's so boring! It's almost Easter! Why isn't anyone excited?"

A collective groan rippled through the bar.

"Easter? Seriously, Toga?" Shigaraki finally turned, his eyes narrowed. "We're villains! We don't celebrate holidays!"

"But... but decorations! Bunnies! Chocolate! Blood!" Toga's last word was almost a whisper, a hint of her darker desires seeping through her cheerful facade. "It would be so much fun to decorate the hideout! We could get pastel-colored everything!"

Dabi snorted. "Pastel? I'd rather set myself on fire."

"Now, now," Mr. Compress interjected, carefully tucking his cards away. "Let us not dismiss the idea outright. A change of scenery might be… stimulating." He winked, the glint of mischief in his eyes hinting at the theatrical possibilities.

"I am inclined to agree with Mr. Compress," All For One said, his voice a low, resonant rumble. "Maintaining morale is crucial. A… festive diversion might be beneficial." He paused, considering. "However, any such endeavor must be conducted with the utmost discretion. We cannot afford to draw unwanted attention."

Spinner scoffed. "Easter decorations? What would Stain think?"

Twice's head whipped back and forth. "Too much attention! We'll get caught! Relax, it'll be fine!"

The room erupted in a cacophony of arguments. Toga, sensing an opportunity, pressed her advantage. "Please? Please, please, please! We can go shopping! I'll even help clean up afterwards!"

Shigaraki rubbed his temples, clearly regretting ever opening his mouth. "Fine! But if anyone recognizes us, it's on you, Toga. And keep the 'blood' part to a minimum."

Dabi grumbled under his breath, but All For One's approval seemed to have settled the matter. Kurogiri sighed, already anticipating the logistical nightmare this spontaneous outing would entail. Mr. Compress chuckled, clearly looking forward to the chaos. Spinner remained unconvinced, but resigned. Twice continued his internal battle, swinging between excitement and paranoia.

Within the hour, the League of Villains, a motley crew of outcasts and criminals, were crammed into a stolen van, heading towards the nearest brightly lit shopping district. Toga, practically vibrating with excitement, pointed out every Easter display they passed. Dabi stared out the window, radiating disapproval. Shigaraki clutched a stained tissue to his face, convinced he would catch some sort of holiday-related disease.
