Alaric's POV
Two hours of agony passed by, in what felt like a decade as those flashes of the accident kept flooding my mind. Her small body lying lifeless on my arms, I had never felt so useless in my life. I should have been the one to protect her, keep her safe for I knew she meant so much to me. No, she had crept in slowly in my heart and she meant the world to me now. I could not take it if anything happened to her. I was a mess. Fear, anger, anguish and most of all, heartbreak, as I watched the operating room's lights still on. How long had it been since I felt such complex emotions? And for a woman to add to the matter. But for her, and with her, anything was possible.
"You have to be fine, stupid woman, else I won't forgive you." I murmured to myself taking slow steps towards the operating room door. I desperately wanted to see her, be by her side every single moment and make she sure stayed alive.
"Brother, you can't go in." Finn who had just arrived held my shoulder.
