The air around them turned into layers upon layers of blurred ripples; fine cracks spread out in all directions across the ground, and the black soil within those gaps spewed out like sludge. The area was a scene reminiscent of an earthquake.
In the center of the battlefield.
The body of the golden-robed bishop had seemingly turned into a translucent outline of colors, as if he became a pure spiritual entity, his surface rippling like water waves.
He floated slightly in mid-air, his right hand slowly lifting an illusory heart.
Finally, he lifted it above his head.
"Buzz..."
The golden-robed bishop, seizing the moment, concentrated his spiritual will to the utmost, his pupils brilliantly lit. Silently, he recited the complex and difficult prayer incantations needed to invoke the Divine Arts, striving to communicate with the Eternal Sleep God. The nebulous blood essence within that illusory heart was precisely fragments of Divine Flesh.
