Chapter 179 - Chapter 179: The second battle

"This… this is too cruel…"

All Might clenched his fists, anger evident in his expression. He had seen scenes like this before… but knowing that the one responsible was Midoriya Izuku made his heart ache.

The crime scene was like a forest of corpses, blood soaking the ground. The police officers standing behind the barricades, keeping outsiders away, were nauseated by the overwhelming stench of blood. Those who had to enter the scene to investigate were barely able to breathe, as if every inhalation was tainted with death.

The bodies were all sliced into pieces—except for the heads, which were left intact, making identification easier for the police. But… this was clearly intentional. It was a warning from the League of Villains to anyone who dared to oppose them. Every single villain that had died here deserved their fate.

There was no way to keep this under wraps. The news of the massacre spread rapidly, dominating major media headlines across the country. Soon, nearly everyone in Japan knew about it. Some even recognized the names of the dead—villains who had harmed their loved ones or friends.

Fear, panic, excitement, satisfaction—people reacted in different ways. Some criticized Midoriya Izuku for being too ruthless, arguing that not all of the villains deserved to die. But they were quickly drowned out by the voices of others.

"None of those villains killed your family or friends. Wait until one of them murders your mom, then come back and complain."

"Sorry, but 'Steel Wire Death God' isn't a hero—he's a villain. If you think it's too cruel, go complain to a judge."

"I can't stand people like you who only talk big. If you really think it's wrong, why don't you become a pro hero yourself?"

Comments like these shut down the critics. The power of public opinion was overwhelming… and now, the Japanese government was beginning to panic.

High-ranking officials contacted All Might, urging him and the heroes to capture the League of Villains immediately. The police would offer their full cooperation.

Even though All Might was deeply uncomfortable with the situation, he knew he had no choice. Midoriya's actions had severely disrupted the social order. If left unchecked, he feared others would start following in his footsteps. The law would become meaningless once more, and society would slip back into the darkness of All For One's era.

The heroes and police launched another operation. This time, instead of blindly searching for the League of Villains' hideout, they had a different plan—

---

Togata Mirio, the current inheritor of One For All, had now surpassed even All Might in strength. He was an essential force in this mission.

Phasing through walls with his Permeation quirk, Mirio followed closely behind a certain target.

The man ahead of him was acting suspiciously, constantly looking around as if afraid of being watched. Mirio frowned in anger but held himself back—this man was a villain.

A pedophile and a child murderer. A disgusting monster.

And yet, Mirio had to follow him.

The reason he was shadowing this scumbag was simple.

The night before, Sir Nighteye had infiltrated a gathering place for villains, using his Foresight quirk to scan the criminals' futures. Finally, he found what he was looking for.

The man Mirio was following… his future held death.

Upon learning this, Nighteye had immediately contacted All Might and Mirio, and a new operation was put into motion.

Because they suspected a mole within their ranks, only All Might and Mirio knew about this mission. And they were the only ones strong enough to handle the target that was about to appear.

Though Mirio desperately wanted to cripple this man on the spot, he forced himself to hold back. There was something more important at stake.

The villain, who had been lying low due to the League of Villains' actions, finally couldn't resist anymore. He left his hiding place, looking for a new victim.

It was 8 PM. The night was dark, making it hard to see. The man took advantage of the shadows and began his hunt.

Mirio, who had been waiting since 8 AM, silently followed.

The villain skulked into a small park where a few children were still playing. Seeing them, his eyes gleamed with twisted excitement. He stopped walking and turned toward them, reaching out with wicked intent.

"Damn it…"

Mirio couldn't hold back any longer. He prepared to rush in and beat the man half to death.

But just as he was about to act—

Something unexpected happened.

The man was instantly dragged away and vanished. The sudden noise startled the children who were playing house. When they looked up, they saw a tall young man with black hair smiling at them.

"Sorry for interrupting. Don't worry, just keep playing your game."

After speaking, the young man with black hair walked away and disappeared around the corner. The children, however, felt like he looked strangely familiar.

Around the corner, the man was bound tightly by steel wires, his face filled with fear. At that moment, he knew his fate was sealed—the "Grim Reaper" had arrived.

"I can't let trash like you stain the kids' eyes."

As Midoriya Izuku spoke, he stepped into the dark alley. The man struggled desperately, but he was powerless against the force dragging him in.

…

After reaching the right spot, Midoriya Izuku stopped walking. He turned back to the man with a smile.

"This should be far enough. Now go to hell and apologize to the kids you hurt."

He twisted his fingers, preparing to tear the man into pieces with the steel wires. But just then, someone suddenly appeared and stopped him.

Togata Mirio burst out from the wall, swinging his right hand like a blade. With the immense power of "One for All," he struck down at the steel wires wrapped around Midoriya's fingers.

The wires snapped instantly, and the ones binding the "enemy" vanished along with them. At the same time, deep cuts appeared on Midoriya's right hand, blood gushing out.

Not understanding what had happened, the terrified man took advantage of the moment to scramble to his feet and run. Togata Mirio instinctively wanted to chase him down, but he didn't move.

Because the real target—Midoriya Izuku—was standing right in front of him.

Midoriya noticed the conflicted expression on Mirio's face and, understanding what he was worried about, smiled reassuringly.

"Mirio-senpai, long time no see. But you don't have to worry about that trash running away."

"Dabi, go after him and kill him."

Midoriya gave the order to the man standing behind him, then added,

"Just leave the head intact."
