Chapter 188 - Chapter 190

"Are you getting old and confused? Jiraiya, do you really think this level of Earth Release will work on me? I can fly," Kirito said with a smirk.

Purple cloud wings spread out behind him, and with a single flap, Kirito rose into the sky, just as the swamp formed beneath his feet. Raising his left hand high, the enormous lightning Kirin roared to life, charging toward Jiraiya and Sasuke.

"This is bad!" Jiraiya exclaimed, his voice filled with shock. Beside him, Sasuke's expression mirrored despair.

The speed of lightning was instantaneous, faster than the speed of sound. There was no way to avoid it.

Just as the Kirin was about to strike, it suddenly veered off course, bypassing Jiraiya and Sasuke entirely. The massive lightning beast hurtled toward a distant break in the terrain and collided with the ground in an earth-shaking explosion. The tremor rippled through the area, kicking up dust and debris.

"Did it miss?" Jiraiya asked hesitantly.

Sasuke, who was slumped on the ground from chakra exhaustion, replied, "No, with his level of precision, it's impossible for him to miss."

"Of course not." Kirito's voice rang out, calm and mocking, as he descended and folded his wings. "Both of you are already far from your peak. What would be the point of defeating you in such a state?"

Jiraiya and Sasuke turned toward him, stunned.

"I thought you might use the Sage Mode of Mount Myoboku, Jiraiya. I was looking forward to seeing it," Kirito said, tilting his head.

Jiraiya gave a bitter smile. "If only I'd had more time to prepare."

The truth was, Jiraiya only used Sage Mode in the direst situations. The process of summoning Fukasaku and Shima to gather sage chakra was time-consuming, something he hadn't been able to manage amidst the chaos of the battle.

After Kirito easily handled Gamahiro, Jiraiya had hoped Sasuke would buy him enough time to prepare. But Sasuke had summoned Kirin prematurely, only for Kirito to seize control of it and unleash an even more devastating version. There was simply no time to act.

"Why... why did you kill Boruto?" Sasuke struggled to his feet, his voice trembling as he glared at Kirito.

Kirito tilted his head toward Jiraiya instead. "Is that pineapple-headed brat dead?"

Jiraiya shook his head slowly, then asked, "What's really going on?"

Kirito smirked. "Although our goals don't align, I don't hate that second-generation brat enough to kill him. I may find him annoying, but I should've made it clear: the Akatsuki won't act for the next three years. Why would I make an enemy of you over him?"

He turned his gaze back to Sasuke, his smirk growing. "I think you've already noticed—there's another soul inside that brat."

Sasuke froze, his mind flashing to the figure of Urashiki.

"Yes," Kirito continued. "I sensed a similar presence to that disgusting white-haired idiot I killed earlier. That soul has been eroding Boruto's for some time. While I don't care much for the kid, he's still half my nephew—bah, half my grandson. How could I kill him? That other soul has already been destroyed."

"Then why did you attack us?" Jiraiya asked, his brows furrowed.

"Was I the first to attack?" Kirito asked mockingly, rolling his eyes.

Jiraiya let out a bitter laugh and replied, "You could've explained earlier."

"A real man doesn't need to explain," Kirito retorted. "Besides, I wanted to test how far Sasuke has grown. Unfortunately, it's disappointing. He's so weak."

Kirito turned back to Sasuke and added with a smirk, "Tell me honestly—has Sakura drained you completely dry? Is that why you're so pathetic?"

Sasuke's face flushed with anger, and the corners of his mouth twitched. "I've told you before—I don't know you, and I've never seen you in the future. Besides, this time and space is completely different from mine."

"Ah, I see. You're from a parallel universe, then?" Kirito pretended to look enlightened. "So the idiot I killed earlier was from the same place?"

Sasuke nodded. "His name was Urashiki. He came here specifically to capture Naruto and steal the Nine-Tails' chakra. Boruto and I followed him here to protect Naruto."

Kirito scoffed. "I have another question: why are you so weak despite having the Mangekyō Sharingan? Your combat IQ is laughable. You use chakra so recklessly that you're constantly out of energy. Besides these eyes and your Lightning Kirin, I feel like even the current Sasuke is stronger than you."

"That's because Urashiki drained my chakra using his fishing rod," Sasuke replied, though his voice trailed off as he sank into thought.

For some reason, Sasuke felt like he had grown weaker and weaker since Boruto was born. It wasn't just the physical strain of his missing arm—it was something deeper. His fights lacked the sharp instincts he once had. Simple techniques like the Substitution Jutsu, which could've saved him, seemed to slip his mind during battle.

Whenever he fought alongside Boruto, it was as if his IQ plummeted, leaving him helpless and frustrated.

Kirito broke into his thoughts with a mocking laugh. "You really are weak. To lose to a guy like Urashiki—what a waste of those eyes."

As Kirito spoke, a deafening roar erupted in the distance. A column of scarlet light shot into the sky, and an overwhelming aura spread through the air.

"Oh no, Naruto's Nine-Tails chakra is leaking!" Jiraiya exclaimed, his face paling.

Kirito turned toward the source of the disturbance. There, Naruto crouched on the ground, his eyes glowing blood red. Thick, blood-colored chakra surged out of his body, forming the demonic fox's coat.

More and more chakra spilled out uncontrollably, forming a massive pillar of light. Behind Naruto, four tails had already formed, quickly growing to six.

"It looks like he thinks I killed his son. How troublesome," Kirito said, his tone calm and unfazed.

"You're still talking nonsense?" Jiraiya roared, his anger boiling over. This was the first time he'd ever seen Naruto at the six-tailed state.

Kirito smirked. "It's just six tails. I can handle it."

Naruto, fully consumed by the Nine-Tails' power, locked his blood-red eyes on Kirito. His hatred for the perceived murder of Boruto was absolute. With a feral roar, he lunged at Kirito with murderous intent.
