Chapter 133 - End of the Four Years

"Innocent Sirius Black? The truth finally comes out."

That was the headline in nearly every newspaper in the wizarding community, including The Quibbler, the newspaper run by Luna's father.

The article revealed the real version of events: that Pettigrew was the true murderer of the dozen Muggles and that he was the Secret Keeper who sold Harry's parents out to Voldy.

There will be a formal trial, mostly for show, to officially recognize Sirius's innocence.

Of course, Sirius will still have a minor hearing for being an unregistered Animagus, but aside from a small fine and a record in the registry, he doesn't risk much.

And finally, the biggest and best news of all: the Dementors are going to stop bothering us and return to Azkaban.

The case of the hundred Dementors attacking students has been made public, causing a scandal so huge that all Dementors are now required to return IMMEDIATELY.

According to my theory, the Dementors sensed Professor Lupin's aura as a werewolf and decided to attack him because they were hungry, but instead they found Sirius and attacked him.

Their instincts took over when the attack began, and they ended up going after Harry and Hermione too.

Most of the shopkeepers in Hogsmeade were relieved, because the nightly patrols were really bad for business.

"I'm glad they're gone; they were really unsettling."

"That's the limit of their very existence, Hermione. They're made to amplify misery, and we still have no idea where they came from — although I suspect they might have been the result of soul-related experiments or something similar in ancient times."

I don't know what happened, but even though she got back together with Ron and Harry, Hermione still prefers to stay with us — maybe because our conversations are a bit more intellectual.

"What else have you got planned for the holidays, Evelyn?"

"I already spent a bit of time with Mary's family and had a few dates with her. Then there's the Quidditch World Cup, which I should attend. There's also the mythical tea contest — you could come if you want."

"I'd like that."

I invited her because she started to look sad after each of my answers, and I think I know why, but I need more evidence to support my theory.

"There's also a major underwater exploration coming up — a site that might be connected to Atlantis or a city from that era."

Being able to visit a place like that is exciting, and even if we don't find anything big, there should at least be something small that could help us.

"And I think that's all the big events I've got planned for now."

What I didn't know was that I was about to have the most dangerous holiday of my life.

The end-of-year banquet took place, and even though we didn't win the Quidditch Cup, we still won the House Cup.

Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup, but it was very difficult — especially after their near-defeat against us. They had to humiliate Slytherin before finally catching the Golden Snitch.
