The boy smiled as he watched Rache feed her pet baby a few treats - a bit of crumbled cake. His own slice was untouched on the table before him.
He hadn't even moved his arm, hadn't taken one bite for himself, and had instead opted to quietly observe Darrach with clear curiosity. He watched how she picked up small bits and held it out, only to be rewarded with the sight of the little kid lapping it up with a happy bleating noise.
Darry really was adorable. But it seemed he was too captivated to really eat.
After some time of simply watching the antics between Rache and her goat kid, the child finally hesitantly picked up his fork. He began to eat slowly, but the sweetness of the cake worked to make his hesitation slowly began to fade away. He even smiled.
In a fit of childish joy, he made a sound. Not a word, just a simple happy little humming, his lips pressing inwards to create a low melody. His eyes were warm as he smiled at Darrach.
