Meanwhile, at Karasuno High, Hinata and Kageyama were just finishing up their makeup exams.
Waiting for them outside the school gates was Tanaka's older sister, Saeko.
A bold university student with a personality not too different from Tanaka's.
"Let's go!"
She cocked her thumb toward the pickup truck behind her.
"Hop in, you academic disasters!"
Elsewhere in the halls of Nekoma High, Coach Ukai and Takeda met with Coach Nekomata.
"It's been a while, Coach!" Ukai said.
"Thank you so much for inviting us to join this training camp."
"Haha! Not at all!"
Nekomata scratched his head with a sheepish grin.
"We're happy to have you here. You've got some real potential—do your best at Nationals next week!"
"You're not going?" Ukai asked, surprised.
"Even a strong school like Nekoma couldn't make it through Tokyo's qualifiers?"
"Haha! We just had some tough luck."
Nekomata was surprisingly lighthearted about it.
"Once I saw the tournament bracket, I knew we were in trouble."
"Our second-round opponent was Itachiyama—the reigning champions."
"They've won several Spring High and Interhigh tournaments. They're a force."
"If you guys end up facing them, watch out."
"The reigning champs…" Ukai's expression darkened slightly.
"They must be insanely strong."
Back in Nekoma's gym, Karasuno had arrived.
The large gymnasium was already buzzing with activity. Several teams were warming up.
"Once warm-up is over, we'll rotate through training matches," Kuroo explained to Daichi.
"The losing team has to do fish-dives around the court for a week!"
"Sounds fair!"
Daichi clenched his fists, then turned to his team with determination.
"Let's do this!"
With the warm-up done, the rotating practice matches began.
There were five teams in total, including Karasuno.
First was Ubugawa High from Kanagawa.
Their biggest weapon was serving—they emphasized it above all else.
Each practice ended with 100 serves per player.
And all that repetition paid off: their serves were terrifying.
Their opponents were Shinzen High from Saitama.
While they lacked flashy star players, they were masters of teamwork and coordination.
Then came Karasuno's longtime rivals:
Nekoma High.
Defense-focused and relentless, their playstyle was all about wearing down the opponent until the perfect counterattack.
They were a nightmare to score on.
And finally—
Fukurodani Academy.
Their ace was said to be on the same level as Ushijima—top five in the nation.
Fukurodani was the strongest team in this entire training camp.
And now, standing among them, was Karasuno.
How would they stack up?
What kind of sparks would fly?

"What a tough opponent…"
Daichi wiped the sweat off his forehead, looking solemnly at Ubugawa High, whose players were being punished on the opposite side of the court.
If it hadn't been for Nishinoya's incredible performance in defense, they definitely wouldn't have managed to win against such a powerful opponent!
Even so, Karasuno's training matches today had more losses than wins.
Out of the teams gathered here, they only managed to scrape a few victories from Ubugawa and Shinzen.
As for Fukurodani and Nekoma...
They played several matches, but didn't win a single one.
Among those teams, Fukurodani's ace, Kotaro Bokuto, truly lived up to his reputation!
"That guy…"
Sugawara clenched his teeth as he looked at Bokuto, currently in the middle of a match against Shinzen.
"He ranks below Ushiwaka, but why does it feel like they're equally strong?"
"The reason Bokuto wasn't chosen as one of the top three aces in the country isn't because of his skill."
Kuroo passed a few bottles of water to the Karasuno players and added:
"It's because he has a completely different mentality than most players."
"His mentality?"
"Haha! Just wait and see."
Kuroo chuckled and continued,
"You might just get to see that side of him during Nationals!"
"Ah, right!"
Daichi suddenly remembered something.
"By the way, who's that tall guy on your team? We've never seen him before."
