Chapter 439 - Chapter 438: The Hope That Kept Us Alive

The next day in Qlipoth Fort, the three Trailblazers, well-rested, made their way into the city.

Inside, Topaz was happily chatting with Bronya. Their conversation revolved around the expansion of Aetherium Wars in Belobog, as well as discussing profit distribution after its successful establishment—a completely professional investment discussion.

As Pei Guang and the others arrived, the sound of footsteps caught Topaz's attention. She turned her gaze toward them.

"Looks like you have some important visitors. And these three are…?"

Bronya responded, "These are the ones you've been waiting for. They are…"

Before she could finish, Stelle cut in confidently.

"That's right! I am the legendary Galactic Baseballer, Trailblazer Stelle!"

After introducing herself, Stelle pulled out her bat, twirling it in a few impressive swings.

Pei Guang smirked. "Hmm-hmm! Since you're asking so sincerely…"

March 7th followed up dramatically. "Then I'll generously tell you!"

Pei Guang struck a pose. "I am the Galactic Swordsman, Trailblazer Pei Guang!"

March 7th joined in. "And I am the Galactic Archer, Trailblazer March 7th!"

Topaz couldn't help but clap at the spectacle.

"So you three are the famous Trailblazers. And you must be the renowned Pei Guang that Asta spoke about?"

Pei Guang raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You've heard of me? And Asta too? Don't tell me she called you here as backup?"

Topaz tilted her head in thought.

"Backup? Hmm~ Well, Asta did ask me to come help you organize an event. So, once I got here yesterday, I first had a chat with the leaders here. By the way, have you ever heard of Aetherium Wars?"

Pei Guang blinked. "Uh… Aetherium Wars? The hell is that?"

March 7th looked puzzled. "No clue. What is it?"

Stelle mused, "Sounds… less impressive than Galactic War?"

Seeing their utterly clueless expressions, Topaz enthusiastically began her sales pitch.

"Aetherium Wars is a galactic cultural brand, spearheaded by the Marketing Expansion Division, in collaboration with Interstellar Networking and Peaceful Entertainment. This time, thanks to a mysterious sponsor, we're planning to hold a grand event in Belobog—the Interastral Tournament Festival. Sounds perfect for that big festival event idea you had, right?"

Pei Guang nodded seriously.

"A large-scale event? Sounds great. And since Asta brought you here, I'll leave it to you!"

Topaz, who had expected Pei Guang to at least give some input, was thrown off.

"Wait, just like that? You don't have any ideas or suggestions?"

Pei Guang thought for a moment.

"Ideas… suggestions? Well, your Aetherium Wars and Interastral Tournament Festival—just the names scream big event. And as long as it's fun, that's all that matters. Go ahead and set it up however you like. I'm not expecting it to go smoothly anyway."

Topaz narrowed her eyes. "Huh? What do you mean by that?"

Pei Guang smirked.

"I mean, it's tradition—whenever people are sent to organize a big event, there will always be some kind of unexpected mess. And when it happens, I'll just deal with it."

March 7th glanced at Pei Guang. "Wait, so you're already assuming something will go wrong?"

Pei Guang shrugged.

"Of course. It's tradition. If the player gets involved in setting up an event, something always goes wrong. No matter how competent the NPCs seem, even if the Supreme Overlord of the Universe himself shows up, problems will still arise."

He spoke with the certainty of a veteran gamer.

"Now, if we were just invited to participate, then yeah, zero issues. Everything runs smoothly. But if it's a big event, and the preparations aren't finished yet? Oh, something's definitely going down."

And once the players clean up the mess? They'll enjoy the festival with their companions—just as planned.

Classic game mechanics.

Topaz: "Oh? Then can you predict what kind of mishaps might occur? That way, I can prepare for them in advance."

If it were anyone else, Topaz might have taken it as a challenge to her competence. But this was Belobog—a place where Pei Guang could sing a song and summon the Amber Lord, where even trash cans could judge her.

So, Topaz took an absolutely serious approach.

Not only was she helping her friend Asta, but she was also working in the company's best interests. By now, she had realized why that Masked Fool had fully sponsored this event—it was because they had their eyes on Pei Guang, this unique existence.

Topaz was familiar with the sponsor, Masked Fools. Every event they orchestrated was a massive spectacle. However, their activities always revolved around large-scale festivities, showcasing their pursuit of the philosophy of joyful aesthetics.

Because of this, being targeted and fully funded by them was enough to prove just how significant this planet was.

Under these circumstances, if she was the one organizing the event, problems were indeed likely to arise.

Pei Guang: "The most obvious issue I can foresee is that while I'm trying to organize a festival for Belobog, the company might send someone to make things difficult for me."

Topaz glanced down at the certification badge hanging from her chest. For a moment, she didn't know how to respond.

March 7th whispered a reminder: "Ah Guang, she is from the company."

Pei Guang: "Not a big deal. Sure, she's from the company, but since she's here to help with our event, that makes her our person. And our people wouldn't sabotage our own event, right?"

Stelle, deep in thought, added, "Ah Guang, if you've already guessed how they'll interfere, how do we prevent it?"

Pei Guang: "That's exactly why we're meeting Bronya today. I'm guessing Bronya has also considered this possibility, right?"

Bronya, who had been silent this whole time, found herself caught off guard by Pei Guang's question. Considered what, exactly? She had merely suspected that since Topaz was from the company, her arrival here wouldn't be simple. And since Topaz immediately proposed a collaboration, Bronya, as the Supreme Guardian, had simply overanalyzed her motives.

She had only been thinking about matters related to Topaz. The reason she called Pei Guang here was just to have him advise her.

She hadn't thought this far ahead at all!

Bronya fell into silence. After a long moment, she sincerely looked at Pei Guang and said, "Go all out. As long as you don't tear this place down, do whatever you want in Belobog. I believe you can accomplish anything."

Pei Guang: "Oh? You trust me that much?"

Bronya nodded seriously. "Ah Guang… I'm counting on you. But sometimes, I think… as the Supreme Guardian, I really haven't done my job well. So many crises have happened, yet I've been powerless to do anything..."

Pei Guang: "How can you say you can't do anything? At the very least, you were still willing to trust me after we arrived. I've played so many games, and honestly, only you and Jing Yuan have ever trusted me. Every other NPC is already being generous if they don't throw me into jail."

It's a classic RPG trope—whenever a player reaches a new area, unexpected incidents are bound to occur, and the player often becomes the prime suspect. In some games, even after resolving the issue, players don't receive the treatment they deserve.

But whether it was the Space Station, Belobog, or the Xianzhou Luofu, Pei Guang had a completely different experience—one that felt incredibly refreshing.

In Belobog, sure, there were some initial hiccups, but once he built up enough goodwill and reputation, for the first time in a "game," he actually experienced the recognition he should have received.

Bronya: "Because without you, this world would have already been destroyed. You are Belobog's greatest benefactor. If we don't trust you… who else can we trust…?"
