Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Michael's POV

He is not talking anymore. He is not even moving anymore. He keeps looking at the mark on my neck given by my alpha, but his eyes speak so much. He was hurt, broken, shattered, and so much more. After all, his mate was marked by another alpha, an alpha who is not him.

After he told me he had had a crush on me since he was fourteen, for the last six years, I knew I had to tell him. I knew I had to tell him that I can't belong to him. He just had to know the truth, not the whole truth, but he had to know. Only the head alpha, his father, knows the whole truth, and only he and, now, Alexander know that I marked, but not the whole story, and I don't know if I would ever be able to tell him everything.

"I don't care." My eyes were wide in surprise when Alexander said those words. He doesn't care? Does he know what he is even trying to say?

"You don't care that I am marked? You don't care that I have another alpha's mark on my neck?!" That was a surprise for me. The last time I was this surprised was when the head alpha didn't give me back to my previous pack or threw me out of this pack after knowing the truth, but instead helped me stay hidden here, in this pack.

"That alpha must still be alive since his mark is still on your neck, right?" Alexander stood up and looked me in the eye, I knew it was Xander and not Alexander because his eyes were bright red, filled with anger. The anger scared me.

"I-I guess. Why?"

"Tell me who it is?"

"I am not telling who the alpha is, Xander!"

"Why?! I am your mate!-" he leaned towards me, trying to cage me between him and the bed "-I have every right to know who that piece of shit is, who has given you a mark on his neck despite knowing the fact that you guys are not mates! Tell me who he is and where he is? Is he from our pack? Is he someone from outside? How long have you had this mark on your neck? Was it after you came to this pack or before?! Tell me, Michael! For fuck sake, tell me who gave you the mark!" he looked who angry The rage in his eyes is so clear.

"No, I will not tell you, Xander."

"Why?! I am your mate!"

"And he is my alpha!" I bit my tongue when those words slipped out. I shouldn't have told that to my angry alpha mate.

"Oh yes," he started laughing while backing away. I gulped because he looked scary and crazy. Why is he laughing like that? Has he gone crazy?

"Xan-" My words were cut off by a gasp that left my mouth when I saw Xander punch the wall beside the door. I immediately ran to him and checked his hand.

"Are you stupid?! Why would you do something like that?!" I went to my nightstand and took the first-aid box, and rushed back to Xander. I cleaned his wound and gently wrapped his knuckle with a bandage, not caring about the hole in my wall. I knew he was staring at me, but I ignored him.

"It's done," I said and backed away. I didn't look at him but instead went to the washroom to clean my hands. After cleaning my hands, I came out and saw him still standing there with his eyes on me, following my every move. I silently took the first-aid box and kept it back in the night stand.

I stood by my bedside, not looking at him, but I knew he was looking at me, and I didn't know what to say or do. I didn't want to look in his eyes and see those hurtful emotions, it pained me to see those emotions in his eyes. I hated it.

"Does your hand hurt?" I asked after a few minutes because neither of us was going to speak.

"Less than my heart," and that sentence broke my heart.

I heard the door open, I looked up, and he was gone. He left...
