Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 A Night Of Deception

That evening, Hazel waited for Zamiel at her apartment. She had finished work early, making sure she was home before he arrived. She did not know why, but a strange feeling lingered in her heart. Maybe it was because of his mother's sudden call or the way Zamiel looked troubled after the conversation.

A knock at the door pulled her from her thoughts. She quickly opened it, revealing Zamiel. He looked exhausted but managed to smile at her.

"You are early," she said, stepping aside to let him in.

"I wanted to see you before I go," Zamiel admitted, pulling her into his arms. Hazel melted into his embrace, inhaling his familiar scent.

"Did you figure out why your mother called you so suddenly?" she asked softly.

Zamiel sighed and pulled away slightly, his hands still resting on her waist. "No, but I have a feeling it is about Amanda."

Hazel frowned. "I do not understand. What could she have done this time?"

"I will find out when I get there," he said, brushing a strand of hair from Hazel's face. "But I do not want to think about that right now."

Hazel smiled, deciding to push aside her worries for the moment. "Then let us just enjoy our time together before you leave."

Zamiel leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "That sounds like a plan."

They spent the next hour talking and laughing, temporarily forgetting about everything else. But eventually, it was time for Zamiel to go. Hazel walked him to the door, and before leaving, he cupped her face gently.

"Wait for me," he whispered.

"I will," Hazel promised.

With one last lingering glance, Zamiel left.

At the Blake Mansion

Zamiel stepped into his family home, immediately sensing the tension in the air. His mother and father were waiting for him in the living room, their expressions unreadable.

"Sit," his father said.

Zamiel took a seat, glancing between them. "What is going on?"

Mrs. Blake let out a deep sigh before speaking. "Amanda's mother came here today."

Zamiel's eyes narrowed. "Why?"

His mother gave him a long look before saying, "She claims Amanda is pregnant with your child. But don't you know about it"

The room fell silent. Zamiel blinked, then let out a dry laugh. " That is impossible."

"We thought so too," his father said. "But she insists on it. She even suggested that Amanda move in here."

Zamiel scoffed. "And you did not throw her out immediately?"

Mrs. Blake crossed her arms. "Of course, I refused. I told her we need proof first. But, Zamiel, we need to be careful. If this claim spreads, it could cause trouble."

Zamiel clenched his fists. "I will handle Amanda."

His mother gave him a sharp look. "You better. Because I will not allow that woman to step into this house unless I am sure of the truth."

Zamiel nodded. "Do not worry, Mother. I will put an end to this."

And her mother remember hazel and asked if her "so what of her sister hazel "

"She is fine " Zamiel assured.

Amanda sat in her apartment, a glass of wine in her hand as she leaned against the headboard of her bed. A smirk played on her lips as she absentmindedly touched her stomach, remembering the events of the morning.

She had woken up to a mysterious message, and when she opened it, a video had been attached. Her heart had pounded as she clicked on it. The footage was clear—too clear. It showed everything that had happened the night she had drugged Zamiel.

At first, she had watched with a smug expression, expecting to see herself with Zamiel as she had always believed. But as the video continued, her smirk faded. Her entire body went cold.

It was not Zamiel.

The man in the video—the one she had spent the night with—was a stranger. A completely different person.

Her breath had hitched, and panic had set in immediately. This cannot be happening. Her mind raced as she clutched her stomach. If that is not Zamiel, then…

Realizing that the pregnancy was not his, she had made a swift decision. She had rushed to the hospital, where she met Dr. Jache lay down on her bed and drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.

At Hazel's Apartment

Hazel was lying on her couch, scrolling through her phone when a message notification popped up. She frowned as she clicked on it. A video file had been sent to her, accompanied by a short message:

"I think you will need this."

Her heart pounded as she played the video. The moment it began, her eyes widened in shock. It was the same footage—the exact video that Amanda had received that morning.

The events of that night played out in front of her, confirming everything she had suspected. Amanda had drugged Zamiel, believing she had trapped him, but in reality, she had been with another man entirely. But hazel recognized the man sending her this text messages, cause he is the man he set up with Amanda that night

-----

Her mind flashed back to that night.

Mia, her assistant, had informed her that Amanda had requested a private meeting with the director. Something about that did not sit right with Hazel, and she had made a quick decision.

"Mia," she had said, "can you find me a man who is good at pretending? I need someone within ten minutes."

Mia had been stunned but did not question her. A few minutes later, she had returned with a man named Dickson.

"He works in the film industry," Mia had explained. "He usually plays small roles in action movies. He is good at following directions."

Hazel had assessed him quickly. "Are you married?" she asked.

"Yes," he replied, looking confused.

"Do you have children?"

"Two. They are not here with me. I am just here to work."

Hazel had nodded. "Good. Since you are here to work, I have a job for you."

She had then explained her plan to him. "I need you to go to Anser Hotel and meet with a woman. Pretend to be a director in charge of the new movie at Star Entertainment. I want you to record your conversation before anything happens."

Dickson had hesitated, visibly surprised. "Why do you need this?"

Hazel had leaned forward. "The payment is one hundred million. That should be enough reason."

The hesitation in his eyes disappeared instantly. Without another word, he had accepted the job and left for the hotel. When Dickson got to the hotel she was shocked I meet Amanda but he tried to play along.

Back in the present, Hazel's hands gripped her phone tightly. Dickson had done as she asked and recorded everything.

Hazel was curious about where he got the video from and ask him "where did you get this from?

A new message popped up from him:

"You do not need to know where I recorded this. Just send my payment—this is a bonus for you."

Hazel stared at the screen for a moment before typing back. "I will send it to you soon."

As she hit send, a dark determination settled in her eyes. Amanda's lies were starting to unravel. It was only a matter of time before everything came crashing down.
