Chapter 145 - 144: What If... Zombies?!

Lyon felt that this time, the process of crossing worlds was incredibly short.

He had barely closed and opened his eyes before arriving in the alternate universe.

There wasn't even the usual sensation of passing through a thin membrane.

"This feels a bit strange… Hey, hey, hey! Stay the hell away from me!"

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a staggering figure approaching—holding a copy of Harry Potter.

This thing had no intact flesh on its body—half of its face was stripped down to bare bone, while the other half was covered in wrinkled, rotting flesh.

A zombie!

The moment Lyon saw it, he instantly held his breath and activated super hearing.

Within a split second, he understood exactly what kind of world he had stepped into.

Fuuuu~

The next second, he unleashed a freezing breath, instantly turning the entire city into a frozen wasteland.

Then, with a single leap, he soared into the sky, leaving the planet in an instant—reaching outer space within a blink.

But his actions did not stop there.

He controlled the core within his body to separate from himself, achieving temporary astral projection—both his soul and core now floating in the void.

"This… This is actually the Marvel Cinematic Universe's What If...? zombie world?!" Lyon's soul exclaimed.

Now that he had a brief moment to breathe, his mind was filled with utter disbelief.

In that split second before he escaped, he had heard voices—Spider-Man, Bucky Barnes, Bruce Banner—they were discussing how to escape New York and head to New Jersey to find a cure for the zombie virus.

That confirmed it—he had crossed into the zombie universe from What If...?

And the reason he ended up in this world?

Because this world contained both Harry Potter and magic!

Lyon vividly recalled—in the animated series, Ant-Man had once joked and shouted, "Wingardium Leviosa!"

That was the levitation spell from Harry Potter.

Which meant—this world had the Harry Potter IP in it!

"What a bizarre coincidence…" Lyon muttered, shaking his head as he floated in space.

"The zombie virus in this world is a quantum virus—even a four-Infinity-Stone Thanos got infected. There's no way I can be immune."

"But according to Spider-Man's summary in the animation, the virus spreads through saliva transmission."

"So far, I haven't had any close contact with zombies, and my bio-force field has been covering my entire body. The chances of me being infected should be nonexistent."

"Still, I need to be extra cautious."

That was exactly why Lyon had immediately flown into space and separated his core and soul from his physical body.

"If my body gets infected, I'll immediately abandon it and leave this world with my core."

"As long as my core remains unharmed, I'll essentially be unscathed."

"But if even my core gets infected… then I'll abandon my Blood Sea Clone altogether, travel to the Prototype universe, and create a new Blacklight Virus Clone from scratch."

"I refuse to believe that the Blacklight Virus wouldn't be able to devour this Quantum Zombie Virus."

Lyon had already thought through every contingency plan.

In fact, he even made up his mind—

Even if he didn't get infected this time, his second clone would definitely be a Blacklight Virus entity.

"I need to become the ultimate Virus Lord, so I won't ever get outplayed by any other virus again."

Especially in Marvel and DC, where zombie viruses were insanely ridiculous.

Even Clark Kent, the real Superman, could be infected and turned into a zombie.

Lyon remained cautious, waiting in the cosmic void for twelve hours.

Seeing that his body showed no signs of infection, he finally sighed in relief.

"I need to leave this place ASAP. Just to be safe, I should head to the Resident Evil universe and do a thorough virus cleanse."

Lyon didn't merge his core back with his body.

Instead, he directly linked to the energy inside his physical form and activated his dimensional travel ability.

Before leaving, he glanced back at this Earth one last time.

"Once I have my Blacklight Clone, I swear I'll return to this timeline and turn every single zombie virus into fuel for my evolution!"

With that, he vanished from this world.

...

After another round of spatial traversal, Lyon reappeared in outer space above the Resident Evil universe.

The moment he arrived, the consciousness of this world immediately emerged, radiating a sense of joyful excitement.

"Hey, I'm back again. But I'm here on official business this time, so go play by yourself for now."

Lyon first coaxed away the world consciousness, which was rushing toward him like an excited puppy wagging its tail.

Then, he used his authority to scan his entire body.

After a long moment, he let out a deep sigh of relief:

"Should be fine… but let's disinfect one more time, just to be sure."

He began channeling vast cosmic energy and unleashed various radiation tides to purge his flesh.

After that, he remained in space for two more days, finally allowing himself to relax.

Honestly, even if his physical body had been infected, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

As long as his soul remained intact, he could always travel to another world to find a cure.

The most critical thing was to ensure he didn't accidentally carry the Quantum Zombie Virus into another universe.

To confirm this, Lyon descended to Earth, landing in the Arctic, where he played around with a group of polar bears for several days.

These enthusiastic bears kept trying to shove his head or arms into their mouths for a little chew.

A few days later, seeing that the polar bears were still lively and healthy, Lyon finally set his mind at ease.

Still feeling a lingering sense of unease, he returned to Sevier Commonwealth, reuniting with Director Bard and the others after a long absence.

He also spent a month with Ada and Jill, cherishing his time with them.

After a full month, Lyon said his goodbyes to everyone and once again returned to the Marvel Universe.

...

Kamar-Taj.

Wong had just finished explaining the upcoming duel between Kamar-Taj and Asgard.

Tony's face lit up with excitement:

"So the gods from mythology actually exist? And Lyon is planning to gamble in a fight against them? This idea is absolutely brilliant!"

Bruce Banner, however, was interested in something entirely different:

"So… gods are actually just aliens? Then does that mean their planet's environment is similar to Earth's?"

He analyzed aloud:

"Logically, for carbon-based life to thrive, their environment shouldn't be too different from Earth's."

At that moment, Lyon, who had been gone for a few minutes, suddenly reappeared beside them.

Boom!

"You're back!"

Tony immediately stepped forward, wrapping Lyon in a bear hug.

"So? Did you find the right parallel world?"

His words fired off like a machine gun:

"To be honest, I can't wait to join this duel! Wong told me you were planning to make me part of the reinforcements, right?"

Lyon shrugged at Tony's chatter:

"That's something for later. I just went to the wrong world. Now, I need to try again."

He skipped over the part about the zombie universe, then closed his eyes again, activating his traversal ability.

This time, he added more keywords:

[Keywords: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Dark and White Magic, No Danger, Albus Dumbledore…]

He listed a whole bunch of names, determined not to end up inside another paperback novel again.

[Confirm Traversal]

Once more, Lyon vanished.

This time, Lyon passed through an endless void, then pierced through a thin membrane before opening his eyes.

"This feeling... I should have finally left the Marvel Universe." Lyon thought.

...

Parallel World

Atop a tall astronomical tower, a group of people, dressed in various robes with bizarre hairstyles, had surrounded an unarmed old man near a massive astronomical instrument.

The old man had long, silver-white hair and a beard cascading past his shoulders. He wore a grand wizard's robe and looked to be well over a hundred years old.

Such a figure, in any other place, would be seen as a highly respected and wise elder.

But at this moment, the people surrounding him were impatiently urging a platinum-haired young man to kill him.

The young man's face showed signs of struggle.

The old man, however, gave him a look of silent persuasion.

As the others began to lose their patience—

"I'll do it."

A man with pale skin, a sharp hooked nose, and a long black robe suddenly stepped out from beneath the astronomical instrument.
