Chapter 18 - Chapter Seventeen: The Storm is Away(폭풍은 사라졌다)

Lee Ji seo's POV (Point Of View)

"Okay class, we will be going on a field trip after your midterms , so inform your parents about it." Our form teacher, Mr Song said to the class. 'Class trip? Like an excursion?' I said to myself. "I wonder where we will be going this time." Ha ri said next to me.

"Where did you guys go?" I said turning to her. "Japan." She answered. My eyes widened in shock, "What?!" I yelled, getting the attention of all the students in the class, including Mr Song.

"What's wrong Miss Lee?" My Song asked. I shook my head in embarrassment and lowered my head. I could hear Taemin snort a laugh next to me and I rolled my eyes.

I forgot that he took the seat in the other row next to me to bother my life. "You are a magnet for embarrassment, Angry Bird." He said, sounding amused. I lifted my head and faced him, "Fuck you." I mouthed.

He chuckled and looked at the teacher's direction, "Where will we be going?" He asked. "You guys might not really like this but we are going to Jeju Island." He said and I heard disappointed groans from everyone.

"Why are they groaning? Jeju Island is not bad." I said sounding confused. Ha ri scoffed, "Jeju is not a problem but this rotten spoilt kids are." She said shaking her head. "Oh don't be like that." Mr Song chuckled, "Jeju Island is really great."

"Where would we be staying during our trip?" One of the students asked. Everyone listened in anticipation, probably hoping he would say a fancy hotel or the other. "Everyone... We will be staying in-"

"JUST TELL US ALREADY!!" Half the class yelled, interrupting him. "Well if you would just wait and listen." He said with a furrowed brow, then continued, "We will be staying in the rural areas in Jeju Island so you can learn about how the people living in that society live their daily lives."

"Why?" Someone asked, raising their hand. "That's because you guys need to step out of your comfort zone so we are going to Jeju Island just to do that." He said with a smile.

"But can't we just-" A student was about to say something when Mr Song interrupted them, "Okay so shall we resume with today's lesson?"

Grumbles were heard around the class and Mr Song chuckled, "Your Mid term exam is in a few weeks so you need to study hard, if you don't pass the test, you won't come along with us to Jeju." He explained.

"Don't threaten us with a good time." Taemin spoke up and earned laughter from the class. "Well, we all know that you guys value your grades more than anything and won't risk it just to miss the trip." Mr Song said in a matter of fact tone.

"I don't really see a problem with the class trip. I would love to go to Jeju Island." I whispered to Hari. Hari nodded her head, "Yeah me too but knowing our school, I don't think they will let us really enjoy our trip but let's hope for the best." Hari sighed.

"I don't know why but it has been really calm today..." I trailed off, looking around the class. "That's because Arin was suspended so you aren't getting any death stares today." Taemin said, before ruffling my hair.

"Are you crazy? I spent hours on my hair!" I yelled, glaring at him. "Sorry but I couldn't help myself, it looks like cotton candy." He shrugged. I gave him one last glare before I focused on our teacher. "Ah, that's right. She got suspended for what she did to you. She deserves this." Hari whispered to me and I shook my head with a smile.

It was lunch period and I grabbed Hari's hand and took her to the cafeteria, "Hey, so how was your date with Dae, you forgot to tell me about it." I said tugging her arm. She started blushing, "No." I stared at her, "You really want to go back on your word right now?" I scoffed then left her arm and walked into the cafeteria.

"Hey Angry Bird!!" I heard someone yell. I quickly turned around and was about to walk out of the cafeteria when someone grabbed me by my arm and spun me around and I came face to face with Taemin.

"Hey, do you remember your promise?" He said out of breath. I looked at him in confusion and he rolled his eyes before he continued, "You said you were going to tutor me on my English while I help you in Maths. Remember?"

I thought for a while before it finally came to me, "Oh yeah. Why did I do such a thing?" I sighed. "So are we going to do it now in the library or here?" He said looking around. "No, I really didn't eat much this morning and I'm hungry so I can't use this period."

"Okay, what about after school?" He said looking hopeful. I stared at him for a while, but before I could speak he spoke up, "And remember that you totally suck at Maths so you need this more than me." He said with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes, "Touché" I said in English. "What?" He said in confusion. "You need help more than me. After school, library." I said glaring at him before I went to go and order my food. "What was that about?" Hari said, coming up to my side.

"I'm tutoring him in English while he helps me in my Maths." I explained. "Why is it that when I tell you to do something, you rather do your own thing even when it might put you in danger?" Hari whispered.

"What?" "Didn't I tell you to not even be in a 2 metre radius with Taemin because he is the dangerous one out of the three?" She rushed out. "I'm just tutoring him, there's no issue with that." I said with a shrug.

"He also works in your grandmother's restaurant." She said, carrying her food tray to a lunch table. "Other than that, I don't really see him that much, so you have nothing to be worried about." I reassured her and she stared at me for a bit before sitting down.

"Okay, I'll take your word for it, but if he hurts you, I'll cut off his balls." She threatened. "Calm down." I chuckled. She smiled and started eating, "So are you going to tell me about your date with Dae or do I have to go and meet him and let him tell me himself?" I said, staring at her.

She glared at me before swallowing the food in her mouth, "Okay, I'll tell you so you'll stop bugging me." I sat comfortably and leaned forward so I could hear her better, then she continued, "It was okay. After we left your grandmother's restaurant, we went to the movies. Dae suggested that we should watch a romantic comedy but I suggested that we should watch a horror movie. It looked like he really didn't like my suggestion but just agreed to it because I suggested it. I really felt bad and told him that we could watch what he recommended but he said it was fine and we went to watch it."

"And how did that go?" I asked, even though I knew where it was going. "He passed out in fear at a jump scare scene." Hari giggled, remembering the incident. I stiffened a laugh, "Hey don't laugh at him." I reprimanded her, even though I wanted to giggle too.

"He woke up a few minutes later and fainted again when he saw another scary scene." Hari shook her head with a smile on her face. "I woke him up and told him we could leave but he said no, and that he doesn't want me to miss it because of him and we kept watching the movie. I really felt bad that he went through all that just to see me happy and I held his hand to provide some sort of comfort to him."

"Aww, that's so sweet Hari." I squealed. "And it was so cheeky too but I loved it. He has soft hands, maybe I should ask him what type of lotion he is using." She said drifting into thought. "Hey, focus." "Oh, sorry." She apologised then continued, "After the movie, we went to grab Ice cream and from there I went home."

"Wow, my bestie is in love." I squealed. She grabbed her chopsticks and picked up a piece of meat from my food tray and shoved it into my mouth, "Shut up." She said blushing. I scoffed and chewed on the piece of meat.

"I'm glad she got suspended. I wonder how her mum reacted to her suspension." Hari said before putting a spoonful of food in her mouth. "Who?" "Arin's mum. Arin getting suspended might ruin her mum's reputation. You have to be careful though, her mum might research everything about you and put you in trouble for making her daughter receive a suspension." She warned.

"I don't understand. Am I the one who told Arin to lock me inside the changing room? Or take my clothes?" I sneered. "Her mum might think you frustrated her daughter into doing that." Hari said with an eye roll. "Has something like this happened before?" I asked.

"Yeah but it wasn't that serious like yours, it's just that Arin's mum took it too far. It was back in middle school, a Gamma mistakenly stained Arin's uniform and Arin got mad and although the girl apologised, Arin didn't want to hear it and embarrassed the girl in front of the entire school by pouring a plate of spaghetti on her, then poured milk on her too. She got in trouble and her mum came to school and said that her daughter only did that because of what the Gamma did, using Newton's 3rd Law of Motion to prove her point. Then after that incident, the Gamma and her family moved out of Seoul. I wonder what she might do in your case." Hari sighed.

"Wow, that's a lot to take in." I said nervously. "But you have nothing to fear, I'm right here." Hari reassured but I couldn't help but wonder what Arin's mum could do.
