Arthur, like everyone else, had heard of the game and was as excited as everyone else to try it, if not even more. With how much he grew bored of his life on earth, this fantasy world was like the divine call he had been searching for. However, there was a very small problem.


He had no money to buy the machine required to access Divinity Online. His wretched life had turned him into a broke teenager with no parents, and no relatives. But, by some kind of luck, he got his hands on one of those machines.

Not knowing what was awaiting him in that world, Arthur was simply seeking one thing... A new opportunity in life and to find a purpose he could work for when he had none so far.

Another hour or so passed in a flash. During which, Arthur didn't drop his guard at all, so he was always ready for anything to happen. It required a lot of mental fortitude to stay alert for long periods of time, but Arthur wasn't struggling to maintain that composure and focus.


However, that didn't stop Arthur from picking up some interesting details about the world he was in. For instance, the passage of time was perhaps the most peculiar part. His menu was telling him the time normally as it would.


But, for some reason, Arthur couldn't feel those minutes as precisely as he usually did. For example, when Arthur tried to count a minute with his mind, it felt a lot quicker than what a minute would usually take. Yet, when he tried to count to a minute again, it suddenly started feeling longer.
