Chapter 25 - Chapter 24

Hearing Yosuke's words, the elven girl grew anxious. She had meant something entirely different, but this half-beast seemed too dim to understand.

While it didn't matter much if Yosuke misunderstood, she was worried Gin might also get the wrong idea. She looked nervously at Gin.

"Yosuke, that's not exactly what she meant..." Gin's response initially relieved the elven girl. Thankfully, Gin didn't seem to misunderstand her intentions like the half-beast had.

But Gin's next words almost made her explode with anger.

"What I mean is, since she's a wealthy client, it's normal for her to have a quirky personality. As long as she pays, I don't care how she treats me."

The elven girl felt she had clearly shown her gratitude for being saved from the poisonous dragon.

Despite her reserved nature, it should have been obvious. But these two seemed to have a skewed perspective. One was obsessed with money, and the other seriously analyzed and agreed with that view.

"I see, so this is a special mission based on monetary rewards. The attitude of the characters in the story doesn't matter as long as you get the rewards? That makes sense. After all, it's just a chance encounter. Completing the mission and getting the reward is what matters."

The elven girl was left speechless by Yosuke's serious analysis. Did he not realize she was standing right there? Saying such things in front of her was highly inappropriate.

"My name is Suiruzu Kirarze Gulan Elerialgranze. As you can see, I am an elf. Gin, remember this name well. We will meet again."

The elven girl wanted to learn more about Gin, but with Yosuke present, she felt it was difficult to have a proper conversation. After introducing herself, she prepared to leave.

However, upon hearing her name, both Gin and Yosuke were stunned.

Such a long and complex name was something they had never encountered before. Expecting Gin to remember it seemed impossible.

"Wait, can you say that name again? I didn't catch it."

"Suiruzu Kirarze Gulan Elerialgranze. Got it now?"

Gin: "Yosuke, did you catch that?"

Isami Yosuke: "Was she casting a spell or something?"

Despite her repeating it, Gin still couldn't remember the name. It wasn't his fault; even Kido incantations weren't as long or unrelated as this.

Recalling such a lengthy name every time he addressed her seemed impractical, possibly even dangerous for those prone to tongue-twisters.

"I see, so your name is Suiruzu. A nice name."

Elven Girl: "No, it's Suiruzu Kirarze Gulan Elerialgranze."

Gin: "Got it, Suiruzu."

"Are you deliberately misunderstanding me? It's Suiruzu Kirarze Gulan Elerialgranze..."

"Suiruzu, do you know that 'Suiruzu' means emerald, just like your beautiful eyes? In our world, only trusted friends give each other nicknames. You can call me Gin, isn't that nice, Suiruzu?"

The elven girl's intended protest was interrupted by Gin's reasoning. Understanding his point, her face flushed with embarrassment.

"If that's the case, then there's nothing I can do. This wasn't my request, it's you who insisted on the nickname."

With that, the elven girl—no, Suiruzu—turned and left, nearly stumbling in her haste, possibly from shyness or exhaustion.

The two steel-hearted men paid little attention to her departure. For them, Suiruzu's original name was too cumbersome; calling her Suiruzu was much more convenient.

"Gin, it's been about ten days, and you're still as strong as ever. So, you've already taken down the poisonous dragon?"

Yosuke had come to hunt the dragon, not through the adventurers' guild commission, but because he saw it as a boss monster to level up and get gear from.

"Yep, that corpse over there is it. The dragon's definitely dead, but its poisonous gas still lingers. If we don't disperse it, the villagers might refuse to pay."

Seeing the lingering purple gas, Gin regretted not stopping Suiruzu from leaving. Kido had no purification abilities, leaving him unsure how to handle the gas.

"If it's dispersing the gas, I can handle that. Wind Magic - Swift Gale Transport!"

Under Gin's surprised gaze, Yosuke chanted a lengthy spell, and strong winds began to blow from all directions toward the center. The wind gathered the gas into a spherical form, which Yosuke then collected into a glass bottle.

According to Yosuke, it might come in handy in future battles.
