Iva placed her hand on Ryver's chest, wondering what was happening between them at the moment. She could feel the toughness of his skin on her fingertips, and it reminded Iva of their first night together.
A moment that had lived rent-free in her mind despite the days that had passed, and it wasn't like Ryver was her first man. As a matter of fact, their first night together was supposed to be another wild night for Iva. She didn't know why her body reacted differently every time this man was close.
"I'll let you relax for the night. We all have had our fair share of shock today," Ryver broke the silence, slowly moving Iva to the side. When he was sure she was no longer on his body, he pushed himself up and stood.
Taking one last glance at his daughter sleeping peacefully, he left the room without looking back. Hearing the door creak shut, Iva finally let go of the breath she didn't know she was holding. Her two hands on her chest, she could have sworn she felt her heart moving.
