When Kael felt the sharp stab in his chest, it wasn't a physical pain, and he knew instantly who it came from, his little wife. In that moment of distraction, he failed to notice the bane witch shifting their location to a lifeless dimension. They were now surrounded by total darkness, left only with their sight abilities to keep up.
"Let the dance begin," Julia said in a taunting voice.
Kael rubbed his forehead tiredly. He wasn't in the headspace to play games with a bane. Once an expansion like this was created, all advantages fell to the witch. Fighting here would only drain his energy, with no certainty of victory. Keeping that in mind, Kael stayed calm, searching for an escape.
"Why are you not fighting? Use your powers… just as you did centuries ago," Julia taunted, walking around him in circles. "I heard you marked a human... the news is all over Stormont. And Valerie is not happy about it."
