Zhou Lin dropped off Cheng Zhiyin downstairs and Cheng Zhiwei accompanied her up.
Zhou Lin waited in the car.
He smoked a cigarette, and as the smoke swirled, his gaze suddenly narrowed, staring at a black car not far ahead.
Almost immediately, he got out of the car and rushed into the building, making a call while heading upstairs.
By the time he reached the door, his heart was pounding.
A deep breath helped calm his emotions before he rang the doorbell.
The doorbell rang once or twice before someone pulled it open from the inside.
Only a warm orange light was on in the room, slightly dim. Cheng Zhiwei's long hair was still damp, and she had changed into a nightgown.
"You…" Zhou Lin frowned.
"I'm staying here with my sister tonight," Cheng Zhiwei said, not letting Zhou Lin in, just quietly looking at him, "You go back first."
