Moving in wasn't a quick process.
It took a few weeks of packing, sorting, deliveries, and endless back-and-forth drives, but eventually they got everything settled.
The house finally felt lived in.
They even met a few neighbors during the early days.
Most were polite but distant, seemed like people who valued their privacy more than small talk.
Damon didn't mind. He wasn't looking for backyard barbecues or morning coffee chats anyway.
For Damon, the biggest adjustment was the house itself.
It was big for him—bigger than anything he ever thought he'd own.
Not so massive that you got lost wandering the halls, but just big enough that sometimes he caught himself standing in a room wondering what it should even be used for.
He didn't complain.
In fact, he smiled every time he thought about it.
Because the best part—the part he hadn't stopped thinking about since he signed the papers—was the massive space he now had for a home gym.
