Chapter 283 - Against Nanaya Shiki

Nanaya Shiki is an individual with a unique heritage from the Nanaya Clan, a legendary demon-hunting family in the world of Type-Moon.

Although he currently lives under the name Tohno Shiki, he is essentially a direct descendant of Nanaya Kiri, the last leader of the nearly extinct Nanaya Clan.

The Nanaya Clan is a family of demon hunters known for their fast and efficient killing techniques.

They trained their bodies to achieve speed and reflexes beyond normal human limits, allowing them to hunt down and kill demons, vampires, and other supernatural beings.

However, the clan was slaughtered by the Tohno Clan, a family with demon blood, for being a threat.

Shiki, who was a child at the time, survived and was adopted by Tohno Makihisa, the head of the Tohno family

Now, the holder of the God's Eye of Life and Destruction comes face to face with the owner of the God's Eye of Death.

Their gazes locked together, creating a tremendous pressure that made the air around them feel heavy and suffocating.

To an ordinary person, standing between them was not only uncomfortable, it was like being surrounded by two absolute concepts that contradicted each other.

It felt... as if life and death themselves were fighting to dominate reality.

There were three reasons why El chose Nanaya Shiki as his sparring partner.

First, Nanaya Shiki's Demon Slaying Technique was comparable in effectiveness to the Demon Slaying Technique from the Kimetsu no Yaiba World.

El wanted to test whether this technique was really on the same level or even surpassed it.

Secondly, after learning the basic Nanaya Demon Slaying Technique and successfully registering it in the Skill List, El could sell it in the Auction House, which would certainly bring in a lot of Points.

Thirdly, and most importantly, El wanted to understand the essence that the Mystic Eye saw. By understanding the concept of absolute death seen by the Mystic Eye of Death Perception.

El hoped to better understand the Dao of Samsara, especially in relation to the cycle of life and death.

Of course, Shiki, who was his current training partner, had been weakened a bit so that El could learn more.

"Shiki, let's begin..." El said seriously, his hands folded behind his back.

The next second, like ripples on the surface of water reflecting the moonlight, Shiki disappeared from the scene.

In an instant, he appeared right in front of El. The knife in his hand flashed in a cold flash, swinging horizontally, targeting El's death line.

El, who saw the movement in his slowed perception, only smiled faintly. With a light step, he took one step back, avoiding the slash with perfect precision.

However, without pause, Shiki instantly twisted the knife in his hand. The blade shot out sharply in a flash that seemed to pierce space, this time aiming for El's heart.

El shifted his body slightly, dodging the attack within a hair's breadth. However, the movement caused a piece of her clothing to tear, though his skin remained unharmed.

But Shiki did not stop. With incredible speed, he continued to rain down stabs on El, targeting the fatal spots, heart, neck, head, kidneys, and other vital organs.

Shiki's knife finally pierced El's body. He gave a faint smile, confident that he had hit his mark.

However, a moment later, El's body disappeared like a fading shadow, just an afterimage.

Meanwhile, the real El was now standing casually behind Shiki's back, backing away from him as if unaffected by the attack just now.

El turned around just as Shiki realized that his target was just an afterimage, which soon disappeared without a trace.

Without hesitation, Shiki jumped onto the wall at his side, running as if gravity no longer bound him, his legs clinging like a spider crawling on a vertical surface.

At high speed, Shiki's body transformed into the shadow of a bat darting through the darkness, moving swiftly between the shadows to find a safe distance from El. His instincts clearly sensed the lurking danger.

Seeing the movement, El's eyes lit up with interest. He murmured softly, "The Nanaya Clan's Demon Slayer Technique is indeed extraordinary...'

For a moment, he recalled the move Shiki had just performed, then added in a curious tone, "There is at least a resemblance to the Demon Slaying Technique from the world of Kimetsu no Yaiba... especially the Mist Breathing Style."

As El muttered, Shiki's body disappeared again, like ripples on the surface of a pond reflecting the moonlight.

Silently, Shiki reached his highest speed.

Suddenly, Shiki appeared right in front of El, the knife in his hand flashing coldly as he swung it in a vertical strike, about to slice El's body in half.

However, this time El did not choose to dodge. With one smooth motion, White Fire was drawn from Sky Pearl Poison.

The knife in Shiki's hand clashed with the blade of White Fire, sparks of light shooting between them.

In perfect precision, El thinned the angle of impact, making Shiki's knife slip from his grasp.

But Shiki did not back down.

Despite losing his weapon, he quickly grabbed El's body, lifted him up, and slammed him backward with a German Suplex.

The blow was so powerful that the narrow streets of the dimly lit alley cracked and shattered.

As soon as he slammed El, Shiki jumped up to retrieve his knife, preparing to deliver a follow-up attack without giving an inch.

Just as Shiki was about to grab the knife, El quickly got up from the ground, twisted his body and kicked Shiki hard.

BUGH!

Shiki was thrown, hitting the wall of the narrow alley hard enough to cough up blood.

"Khk!" A mouthful of blood came out of his mouth from the impact of the kick.

The shaking wall made Shiki's knife stuck in the wall come loose. In an instant, El caught the knife with his right hand, then handed it back to Shiki without hesitation.

Shiki received it expressionlessly, then immediately swung it in a cold flash, targeting the line of death on El's neck.

However, before the blade reached its target, El's figure vanished like a ripple on the reflection of the pond water reflecting the moon, El had already jumped back.

Both feet stuck to the wall of the narrow alley, then in one smooth motion, it ran along the wall at an unnatural speed.

Nanaya Clan Demon Killing Technique.

As a Demon Slaying Family, the Nanaya Family was famous for its killing techniques. Demon Slaying Techniques have always been created to train ordinary humans to use their bodies to their limits.

Utilizing the surrounding environment to perform various movements that deviate from common sense.

Peak speed beyond that of a human who could suddenly accelerate at a standstill, make a sudden turn at high speed, and then utilize space to capture and observe the object, that was the Nanaya Clan's Demon Killing Technique.

Shiki saw his target running away and immediately gave chase. He jumped onto the wall, running at full speed while stationary, ignoring gravity and inertia as if they were not laws binding him.

Realizing Shiki was chasing his, El immediately turned around while still running backwards.

At the same time, the Eye of Insight continued to monitor Shiki's every movement, recording it in memory with perfect precision.

At that point, silhouettes of black, bat-like shadows darting in the darkness began to appear everywhere.

Shiki's movements were fast and efficient, but to El, this was not just a threat, it was an opportunity.

El began to understand the basics of the Nanaya Clan's Demon Slaying Technique.
