John's POV
[Do you want to change your life?]
It was a damn ad that kept coming back, no matter how many times I closed it.
At first, I thought it was a virus, but it showed up on all my devices, not just my computer.
And it's been going on for 48 hours!
I even tried contacting the police, but they couldn't see this ad... it literally disappears as soon as someone else approaches.
Result? I was taken for a crazy person!
"Okay, I accept..." I said in a tired voice.
Finally, I resigned myself to losing money... as long as this person stops harassing me.
[Please select your favorite fictional universe, and if you know another reality, indicate it if you prefer.]
"I don't know who you are, but you won't gain anything by hacking me to play some stupid little game," I muttered, frowning.
I was convinced it was a hacker.
I shouldn't have gone on sketchy sites to download my PC games, but I clearly didn't want to buy anything right now.
"There's the PTJ universe with a + next to it," I whispered, clicking on it.
[Now, please choose a power from the options provided. You can also modify them, but they will then be forcibly adapted to the PTJ+ universe.]
I was about to take the "no power" option, but I quickly stopped.
I remembered that there are fictional stories where protagonists started with a handicap.
So, I looked for a power I knew among those offered.
There were too many, so I pressed the "sort" option to keep only those related to healing.
I quickly found things like regeneration and other abilities of that kind.
After scrolling through the screen for a good minute, I came across something interesting.
"This one comes from the manhwa 'Sweet Guys,'" I said, recognizing the power description.
I clicked on the "modify" option.
I immediately started adding elements to the protagonist's power from "Sweet Guys" and modified those that worried me, like his tendency to be passive.
"I think I've given a sufficient description," I said, satisfied.
[Analyzing chosen power...]
[Rejected by administrators...]
[The ability has no negative points...]
[Starting readjustment of the ability...]
I guess I was too greedy, even though Daniel Park literally has a biologically perfect body.
[Modification complete]
[Name of ability: Apollo's Blessing]
"Apollo? Like the Greek mythology god?" I said, surprised.
[Description: The holder of this skill emits a passive aura that puts people at ease and possesses a healing ability (physical and mental) including slight regeneration.]
[Warnings!!: The holder of this skill must be careful with their bodily fluids, as they possess the properties of this blessing, and they are also affected by this ability, unless they wish to deactivate it on themselves.]
"In the end, the power I got is just a slightly modified version of that pervert's," I said with a hint of hesitation.
I just have to be careful with my blood; it's literally an all-purpose medicine.
[Please choose the method of your reincarnation.]
"This hacker really thinks he's a god or what??"
I frowned, but I ended up following this lunatic's instructions.
"I don't want to relive the experience of being a baby. I know!!"
I couldn't help but smile as I wrote the details of my reincarnation.
If I'm right, I'll have an extra power.
[Do you really want to become Johan Seong, after his defeat by Gun Park??]
I clicked yes.
I don't think I'll have health problems with Apollo's Blessing.
"I'm starting to believe this is all serious, haha."
BOOM
The computer exploded and projected John's head through the window.
According to firefighters and experts, there was a gas leak in the apartment, and it didn't mix well with the overheating gaming computer.
...
"Shit, my head hurts," I muttered, trying to open my eyes.
"Where am I? I remember I was filling out questions and requests from..." As I thought about what I was doing last, a huge flood of information overwhelmed me.
"Damn, it wasn't an online prank or a hacker," I said, realizing the situation.
I've really reincarnated as Johan Seong; it's completely crazy.
While I was still lost in my thoughts, I hadn't noticed that a nurse had entered the room.
(Image)
"You're finally awake!!" she said enthusiastically before leaving.
"Looks like I'm going to have visitors," I muttered, glancing at the door left open by the nurse.
"What's this thing," I said, grabbing an envelope next to my bed.
[If you're reading this, it means you've perfectly reincarnated into Johan Seong's body and, with any luck, inherited his memories.]
It seems I could have died again if my body hadn't been compatible with Johan's.
This jerk could have warned me... Maybe I survived the rejection thanks to my "Apollo's Blessing" skill.
[Know that all your assets have been sold on Earth, and you have received the money from the sale in your current bank account.]
Excellent news, I'm not completely broke.
[Don't worry about the hospital bills, they've been paid by me under the identity of a benefactor who found you on a sidewalk.]
[I really hope you won't waste this life with an ordinary existence, and goodbye!!]
After reading the last words, the sheet caught fire and simply disappeared as if by magic.
Was he a fan of Inspector Gadget?
I looked around to see if there was anything else, but apart from a bank card, nothing.
"An ordinary life?? In Lookism? Hahaha," I couldn't help but laugh, thinking back to the words in the letter.
"I'm going to live this life to the fullest," I whispered, looking out the window.
I don't know how I'm going to handle Johan Seong's old gang, but for now, I need to return to his mother.
"I need to go home, not only to save money but also so my mother can benefit from the effects of Apollo's Blessing."
I don't know why, but I feel Johan's desire to help his mother within me.
It seems his memories aren't just a power boost.
I want to enjoy this life and create my own connections, but I really want to help Johan's mother.
"Sir, see for yourself," declared the nurse.
"Indeed, he has regained consciousness," replied the doctor, visibly impressed.
...
After some thorough examinations, the doctor declared that I was in perfect health, that my physical condition was even enviable.
He wanted to keep me for additional tests.
But I decided to leave the hospital the same day despite the doctor's protests and especially those of the nurses.
It seems that Apollo's Blessing had affected them.
I noticed that the nurses really liked being close to me and especially touching me.
I'm literally a living stress reliever, so I can understand them a bit.
I was currently wearing the clean clothes that Johan had after being abandoned by Gun, as well as by his gang.
It only reminds me of bad memories related to this body.
I really need to change outfits.
"I wonder why I'm taking everything so calmly since my reincarnation," I muttered, realizing this.
Normally, anyone would be stressed or depressed after learning they're forever away from home.
But surprisingly, I didn't panic.
At best, I was surprised and analyzed everything calmly without shouting or reacting like an ordinary person in my place would.
"It's probably an effect of Apollo's Blessing, meant to heal even mental disorders," I mentally concluded after reflection.
It's often said that stress isn't good for health.
I imagine that without stress after my reincarnation, I was able to think calmly about the situation.
So I possess a shareable version of the Gamer's mind; that works for me.
"Hello sir, would you like something?" asked a young woman with a professional smile.
"I just want simple but comfortable clothes," I replied after reflection.
Johan and I had, surprisingly, a few things in common.
We appreciated simplicity and hated unnecessary complications.
"Oh! I see, please follow me," she said, taking me to a section containing clothes that matched my criteria.
I ended up buying more than planned because of the saleswoman's compliments.
I have to admit I didn't receive many before.
I must accept that Johan has a handsome face, and that Apollo's Blessing accentuates the difference with my former self even more.
I was able to pay thanks to the bank card found next to my bed when I woke up.
It was just next to the letter from the one who reincarnated me.
"I'll have to recreate a crew or join Tom Lee for the money... But first, I need to go see mom," I said without noticing that my eyes were glowing with a complex light.
