When the sky was still a dull gray, Suxin had just managed to fall asleep when she heard a knocking at the door.
"Thud, thud, thud," "thud, thud, thud," "thud, thud, thud," the sounds echoed, leaving Suxin confused, thinking she was in a dream. Then she heard, "If you don't open the door, I'm going to use my key!" which finally stirred her from slumber. However, upon waking, all was silent, leading her to believe it had indeed been a dream. But just as she was about to close her eyes again, she heard the sound of the lock turning, "click," and the door simply opened.
"Who's there?" Suxin sat up abruptly, spotting a tall figure entering, a man? She was startled.
"Who else but me would it be?"
Suxin's eyes, still bleary, rubbed them and, after adjusting to the darkness, finally made out the figure. If not Chen Ziqian, then who?
"You... how did you get into my room?" Suxin yelled.
"Get up!" Chen Ziqian said those three words.
