Alexander drove for just forty minutes before they arrived at a secluded bay shore, tucked away from the bustle of the capital city. The sight of the serene shoreline made Rain smile as Alexander parked and started unloading their gear… foldable chairs, a griller, and a picnic basket.
He started making a fire to keep themselves warm since it was already winter and a bit chilly.
"Need a hand?" Rain asked, grinning as she watched him work.
Alexander waved her off and gently pulled her toward one of the chairs. Then he covered her with a blanket.
"I've got this. You just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view of your husband hard at work," he teased, adding a wink for good measure.
Rain chuckled, feeling thoroughly spoiled. "Alright, Mr. Military, show me what you've got. Guess all that training is coming in handy now," she said playfully.
