Later, in her cabin, Savannah felt like her mind was in chaos. She couldn't stop replaying Elijah's words over and over:
"He followed Boss to the study room. That was the last time I saw him. After that, he was never seen again."
Questions swirled around her like a relentless storm. Her head throbbed under the weight of it all, and her heart raced with the implications of what Elijah had said. If he was right, then Theo's death wasn't just a revenge or even related to her being kidnapped—it was orchestrated. But by whom? Blaze? Why?
Then there was the other thing Elijah had brought up—the CCTV camera in the study room. Unlike the other security cameras scattered throughout the mansion, this one recorded around the clock, nonstop. It was directly linked to Blaze's personal iPad, the one he always had on him. That iPad was crucial. Every bit of truth was locked away in that device. If she could just get her hands on it, she might finally uncover what happened that night.
Her fingers clenched into fists as she stared at the floor, her thoughts racing into action. She needed a plan, and she needed it quickly. One misstep, and she could end up losing ger child again—disappea without a trace, again.
Taking a deep breath, Savannah pushed away from her desk, a sense of determination settling deep within her, for her child. There was no turning back. No matter what it took, she was going to find her child, will take him far away from every negativity that surrounds them. And it all began with that iPad.
Later that Night
Later that night, Savannah stood in the bathroom, warm water streaming down her body, but her mind was anything but at ease. Instead of focusing on the soothing sensation, she was consumed with thoughts about how she could get her hands on that iPad without Blaze catching on. She had seen that sleek black device countless times—it was always in the hands of either Arthur or Blaze. They never seemed to be without it, as if it were a part of them, always close by and fiercely protected. Swiping it without them noticing felt like an impossible task.
Her mind raced through various scenarios, desperately searching for a way—any way—that could make the iPad hers. It had to be a foolproof plan, one that wouldn't raise any eyebrows. And then, just like that, it hit her. A plan began to take shape in her mind, one that could actually work. A plan that might convince Blaze to hand over the iPad willingly. The odds were slim—50-50 at best—but she was ready to take that chance....for her child about whereabouts she still didn't know.
Warm tears steamed down her cheeks, one after another and she cried, it was a silent cry but spoke millions of words, involves her sadness, sorrow and venerability.
She just hoped it would pan out because failure wasn't an option. No matter how risky this move was, she was determined to take them as long as it's involved Theo. The truth was so close, and she was ready to seize it.
TwoDays Later
YouHeal Hospital
Two days later, Savannah was back in her hospital cabin, just like any other day. She had just come from a long, grueling surgery. With a sigh, she sank into her chair, closing her eyes and leaning back, trying to shake off the weight of the last few hours. The heaviness of it all pressed down on her, but she welcomed this brief moment of solitude.
Suddenly, the door to her cabin swung open.
"Lunchtime! Let's go!" Bella's cheerful voice filled the room as she stepped inside, her bright smile lighting up the space.
Savannah's eyes flew open in surprise as she quickly checked her watch.
Springing to her feet. She pulled off her white coat and dashed into the restroom.
Bella stood by, arms crossed, watching as Savannah emerged five minutes later, looking fresh and put together. Her hair was perfectly styled, and there was a noticeable glow on her face.
Bella narrowed her eyes, suspicious. "Where are you off to?"
Savannah grabbed a few items from her desk and tossed them into her bag. "Sorry, Bella, but you're on your own for lunch today."
Bella's brows knitted together. "Why though?"
Savannah slung her bag over her shoulder and flashed a small smile..which doesn't really reached her eyes. "I'm having lunch with my husband. Don't wait up for me."
And just like that, she strode out the door, leaving Bella standing there, completely baffled.
For over a month, Savannah had been acting differently—secretive, radiant, always in a hurry when lunchtime rolled around. Bella had noticed the shifts but couldn't quite connect the dots.
What was really happening?
She had no clue, but she was determined to find out.
