Chapter 716 - Villains are Slippery

I flicked a single tap of pressurized water his way. It was nothing more than a little love tap. True enough, the bullet struck his chest. I don't think he even realized it, or at the very least, the lionkin didn't even bother dodging. He simply tanked it while he was busy letting out primal roars of overwhelming frustration.

His allies were already moving. A few riders descended, one smaller lionkin dismounting and offering his beast to the fallen warrior. The massive lionkin took the reins without a word, climbing on and resuming his chase. His subordinate, meanwhile, remained stranded on the ground.

I turned my attention back to my pursuers and resumed my barrage. As long as I had mana left, I was going to use it. Another fell, then another. Twenty more riders plummeted before I felt the telltale signs of magical exhaustion creeping up my spine.

Two hundred and twenty thousand XP. Not bad for a distraction.

But now, I was running dry.
