Realizing they needed to fall back and regroup, the adventurers retreated toward the city walls, planning to use them as a defensive barrier while they recovered.
Watching their retreat, a burly man clad in silver full-body armor—the defense commander of the wall—shouted, "Prepare to open the gates when the adventurers return! Men, ready your weapons! The moment the monsters approach, we strike! Once the adventurers are inside, close the gates immediately!"
As he issued his orders, the adventurers rushed toward the entrance. Moments later, the commander gave the final command:
"Now! Open the gate!"
