Hunter leaned back in his leather chair, staring at the report on his laptop screen, but the words were starting to blur together.
He pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled. His mind kept drifting to Delilah.
He wanted to hear her voice. He wanted to see her and know how she was doing. Yet he was torn between doing what he wanted and listening to the advise everyone had given.
How much space could he really afford to give her? How much time did she need before she would come around and let him in?
Was she even thinking about him too? Why was he being punished this way for nothing?
