He made his move?! I haven't even acted yet, what gives him the right to make a move?!
Ybur was genuinely taken aback; the opponent's sudden attack was completely beyond its expectations.
From Ybur's perspective, there were sufficient reasons to act against Liddle. Liddle was very likely connected to the Paradox Demon, and for caution's sake, directly subduing him was entirely justified. But the reverse—what reason did Liddle have to target Karlo and Cherie? What was this guy trying to pull?
Even larger questions followed: whose side was this Tole even on? Was he a subordinate of the Paradox Demon, or could it be that he was truly a devotee of Grandmother Spider? Could this be a case of "floodwaters washing over the Dragon King's temple"?
Ybur couldn't figure it out in the moment, so it chose to wait and observe. Meanwhile, its Environment Mimicry had already quietly spread out, unfurling at lightning speed.
Karlo also froze for a moment.
