In Durin's imagination, the so-called ironclad should just be an ironwood ship covered with a thicker layer of iron, with additional thickness in critical areas.
However, the Chang Tang Navy showed Durin that the ironclad ships mentioned by the Changtangians are genuinely full metal. At least Eleven and Big Orange indicated that these things are indeed made entirely of metal, as for the interiors...

Durin looked at the giant ships docked at the harbor pier. These battleships had 500mm caliber quad-mounted giant guns. According to the accompanying personnel, these things had integrated turrets and array-based automatic loading, capable of firing up to five rounds per minute.
In other words, not counting the one already chambered, it could load four rounds in the next sixty seconds.
