He turned towards Su Lian, the leader of the Shadow Guards.
"Any ideas?"
She nodded, her expression grim.
"There has been a marked increase in the number of attacks, and it appears to be connected to a strange phenomenon.
"Beasts are appearing in larger numbers and with a wider variety, and they seem to be working together in some instances. We have also detected abnormal energy fluctuations around these creatures.
"Our best guess is that there is a source of energy, possibly a special medicine, that is attracting them."
Liu Meiyang frowned, her elegant brows furrowing in thought. "A special medicine? Are you sure?"
Su Lian shook her head. "No, but the evidence is overwhelming. It's the only explanation that makes sense. The beasts are clearly acting differently, and we've even witnessed them using some kind of strange energy."
Xu Qianghua pondered this new development. If there was indeed a special medicine of such power, he couldn't afford to ignore it.
