"Damn it, we're losing ground," Torino shouted as he fended off dozens of Nomus at the same time.
They never expected All For One to make this many Nomus to take them down. Even though they do not have multiple quirks like the others, the problem was that they were too much in number, programmed not to feel any kind of emotion similar to fear or want of life and were made specifically to take care of each hero.
Torino was facing against multiple Nomus who were releasing toxic gases of various quality. Even though his quirk makes the air he breathes in shoot at extreme speeds from his feet, the air still goes through different parts of his body before that, so if he makes a wrong move and inhales the toxic air, he will be done for good.
He then turned to the other heroes and found out that Endeavor was trapped with dealing with Nomus that seemed to have immunity to fire, while Orca was dealing with those that gave out frequencies of sound, negating all of Orca's attacks.
'Damn it, they got us cornered over here,' Gran Torino thought as he saw a lot of other heroes in the same boat. Some of them even tried to switch opponents. But the Nomus seemed to be programmed to attack the hero they are designated to and are not distracted by anything. Even if another hero chopped off their arm, they still focused on their own heroes.
And the heroes were preoccupied with the group of Nomus attacking them, because of which they are unable to attack others and take up on the small window to strike on other Nomus. Plus, with the added problem of innocent civilians who accidentally got trapped in between that the heroes have got to save, the difficulty just ramped up even more higher.
Suddenly, Torino saw something that made him freeze. A girl was about to be hit by a Nomu whose attack a hero just dodged right now. He then remembered the time he was unable to reach in time to save Clara all those years ago, and if Inazuma was not there, she would have died.
He immediately pushed himself to his limit and managed to reach the speed that would have been only possible in his prime.
He pushed the girl away as he felt his whole body clench due to inhaling the paralysis toxin present in the air.
'Guess this is the way I go, huh,' his heightened perception managed to see the fist full of energy that was able to strike him down. He knew he would not survive it. 'At least the kid will be proud of me for saving a girl before I died, right?'
As he waited for his inevitable end, suddenly everything went bright with red sparks.
The next moment, when he got his bearings back, Torino stared into the battlefield that had gotten silent almost within seconds. He saw that the other heroes were in the same situation, as even they looked a bit out of it as it seemed like they were thrown in a corner instead of being in different parts of the battlefield.
He looked nearby and found that even all the civilians trapped in the buildings were also brought near them. They all seemed a bit shook up, but a preliminary analysis shows that most of them are alright, and many of them seemed to have been treated with bandages with stickers on their face in which the wounds found on them along with the location they were found in was written.
"What the hell?" Torino was startled as Endeavor shouted from his side. "What the hell happened to him in a month to become this strong?"
Torino also had the same thought, as it was easy to recognize who had done this. Plus, the sight in front of them is what startled the heroes the most.
A mountain.
A mountain made of dark cubes.
They had no need to go closer to see what it was and recognize it, plus, for a moment, they had seen someone standing on top of it with two swords drawn in his hands and dark red lightning spread across the entire mountain.
"There must have been at least 600 Nomus in total," the wounded Hawk muttered from the side.
"685," Jeanist corrected him, although the increase in number did not make much difference in the absurdity of it all.
The first one to wake up from the stupor was Torino.
"What the hell are you idiots waiting for?!!! The kid managed to save all our asses and we are dawdling instead of taking the victims to the hospital and giving backup to All Might. GET GOING, YOU FOOLS!!" Torino's shout shook all of them up, as his tenure as a hero is known by them all. They immediately ran to secure the civilians, while most of the strongest went towards the place where All Might was fighting All For One.
Torino sighed. He had taken up those fumes, and it seems like it will take some time for him to freely move his body to battle, as most of his body felt paralyzed.
"But even then, what's to say everything won't be over by the time I reach that place?" he spoke to himself as he looked at the mountain made of Nomu parts. Some flame heroes decided to burn it down so that there would be no unexpected surprises from it later.
"What the hell happened for this kid to turn so ruthless and powerful in such a short time? Guess it will be over today, Nana, and it seems like it will be over by someone else's hand," Torino muttered out loud.
At the same time, Inazuma managed to reach the battlefield and managed to save the victims trapped in the nearby buildings that were trapping All Might. But while saving, he was trying his best not to stop for more than a few microseconds so as to not lose the energy that was building up inside him. And as he saved the last victim, he ran straight towards All For One with one fist clenched tight while focusing his entire energy on it.
"Let's see you survive this, you cockroach."
