Eddie arrived at the office door, knocked down hen she heard a reply she went in, found Derrick on his seat with a very serious face.
"Take a look". Derrick said while throwing a file at her.
I caught the file, looked at Derrick's face wondering what could make him so serious.
Then I opened it, when I done going through the files I looked just as serious as he was.
"How can this be". Eddie asked feeling both confused and surprised.
"I thought you could explain it to me". Derrick said frowning.
I shook my head to show that I didn't understand what was going on either because I had only be called for endorsements and third or fourth tier movies to act in.
But this file clearly stated that I was needed for a leading role in the most popular movie everyone was looking forward to Song of Peach Blossoms.
The response alone gotten when the public heard about the movie coming out was enough to share how important that movie was.
Derrick leaned closer."Eddie, did you sell your body".
"Hell, no!".
Derrick stroked his chin thoughtfully wondering how Eddie managed to clinch this opportunity.
"Eddie, did you find with a powerful background". Derrick asked Eddie with a narrowed gaze.
Eddie raised an eyebrow. "Seriously,you think I'm capable of doing that. If I were that capable of would have become an A - lister actress and be very famous right now".
Derrick's nodded in approval."Yes that's right but how did you get this role. I don't believe in luck".
"I don't have any d**n idea about this".
"For something like you who was barely noticeable and considered as part of the rookie actresses in this industry, this is really baffling".
Eddie shot him a cold look. Derrick raised up his hand in defence."Well, well, the letter says the audition is coming up in a week's time.
Derrick said while giving Eddie the script. Eddie took them and said thanks turning to leave the office.
She had barely gone anywhere when her phone rang. She fetched her phone form her purse and looked at the caller's ID which showed unknown.
She slid a finger to take the call then a cold voice came through. "I'm downstairs".
Eddie didn't even get the chance to say anything before the phone was hung up.
Eddie was feeling a bit confused, then suddenly she checked her phone for time and it showed 5pm.
"D**n, it isn't even 7pm yet and he called, what's the rush". Eddie muttered to herself then smiled mischievously.
"I should probably wait for another thirty minutes here and get him angry".
With that thought Eddie went back into Derrick's office.
Derrick asked her why she came back and she said she called for a taxi and it would not arrive for another thirty minutes so she came back. Derrick said okay.
Stuart was downstairs in the car waiting, ten minutes passed and she hadn't come down.
He picked up his phone wanting to call her but after a thought he put it back down and wait for a bit to see if she would come down.
Another twenty minutes passed and she still hadn't come down. He decided to call her.
Eddie was browsing through her phone when Stuart's call came in.
She almost jumped in fright when she saw it was Stuart's call.
Eddie turned to Derrick to see if he noticed anything and when she saw that he didn't notice she breathed a sigh of relief and stood up.
"I'll take a call". Saying that Eddie went out.
She made sure no one was around her before answering. "Hello".
"Is there a problem? I'll come up".
Eddie became flustered before quickly saying. "No, no, no, I'll come down right now".
Immediately after saying that Eddie cut the call. "Hmph, he can't even wait for thirty minutes before calling".
Eddie went back to Derrick's office to tell him that she was going then she went downstairs and she saw a luxurious car parked by the side.
It was different from the one that she entered in the morning. It was looking more expensive than the earlier one and it was drawing attention from the side.
"Sister Eddie, do you know who that car's waiting for. This is the second expensive car I'm seeing today".
"Um Sophie can you guess". Eddie asked.
"I've seen some artist's sugar daddy's car waiting before but none of them is as expensive as this one. That person is really lucky. Sophie said while ogling at the car".
