Gerald's Point of View
As I flew over the terrain on my Aquila, returning from the chaotic battle in the village, my thoughts kept drifting back to Claire, Leon, and Tintin—whom I had recklessly left behind. Guilt weighed heavily on me."Damn it, what's wrong with me... It's not their fault everything's a mess, it's mine. This world is like a nightmare-level version of the Capcom universe. I can handle the fights for now with my creatures, but even super soldiers like Wesker and the STARS are becoming less effective."
As I landed, I spotted my three teammates not far off. Their faces lit up at the sight of me, and they rushed over. Claire was the first to speak, a relieved smile on her lips."Gerald, we heard about the village. Wesker texted us to keep us updated. Impressive work!"
Leon added with an appreciative nod,"Seriously, you handled it like a pro. We were wondering how you'd manage that mob."
Tintin, never one to say much, let out a low approving grunt, his gleaming eyes betraying his relief at seeing me return so quickly.
Just as I was about to take them into the facility for some well-deserved recovery, Marcus burst out of my space, looking urgent."Gerald, the guy you brought in an hour ago—he's got a different kind of Plagas," he blurted without preamble.
I frowned, trying to recall who he was talking about."The merchant?" I asked, thinking back to the looting I had done earlier.
"Yeah, he's got a weak signal linked to a queen that's not the same as the Ganados' one. It looks like this one gives more subtle orders—like helping anyone destroy the Ganados queen. So, Saddler in this case," Marcus explained, his tone betraying his excitement at the discovery.
I grimaced, annoyed by yet another twist."So you're telling me there's another bastard hidden away, using merchants to take out his competition?" I asked, the weight of this revelation hitting me hard.
Claire, Leon, and Tintin exchanged worried glances, understanding just how deep this rabbit hole went."We're with you, Gerald. What's the plan?" Claire asked, ready to keep fighting.
Only one thought circled endlessly in my mind."My priority is Lisa," I stated, my tone heavy with paternal urgency. My daughter was still in the hands of those fanatics, and I wouldn't rest until she was home.
"Marcus, head back to the facility with these three. I spotted a castle from the air—that's where I'm going," I said, cutting Claire off before she could protest.
"Sorry to say it, but I can't afford to lose more time. I need to reduce our scattered teams. If you prefer, I can leave you with Wesker, but you're not coming with me to the castle. It's too risky," I continued, my gaze firm and determined, making it clear I wouldn't budge on this.
Just as I finished speaking, my phone rang with the familiar "Inspector Raccoon" theme—normally an annoying distraction, but this time, it was Ada on the other end of the line.
"Gerald, I'm at the castle. You'd better hurry—this place is a maze, and I don't know where they're taking your daughter, but I saw her a minute ago. She was tied up and being carried on the shoulder of one of the guards by a midget in a Victorian outfit," Ada reported quickly.
A wave of anxiety and worry surged through me."Ada, try to keep an eye on her, please. I'm on my way," I replied, my voice heavy with concern."Okay, over and out," Ada answered before hanging up.
I turned to Marcus, Claire, Leon, and Tintin. Their expressions showed they understood the gravity of the situation. Each of them offered a few words of encouragement in their own way."Go, Gerald. Save your daughter. We'll head back to Wesker on our own," Claire said gently, while Leon added,"We'll be careful. Do what you have to do.""Go get the little one," Tintin said. "I'll protect these two," he added, referring to Leon and Claire.Marcus vanished back into the facility without another word.
"Thanks, guys," I said before leaping onto Aquila. The mutated eagle soared into the sky, its power matching my rising impatience.
As I arrived above the castle, I was immediately struck by the chaos unfolding below. Plagas were crawling across the walls and ramparts, and the Ganado population seemed endless, swarming in every direction—their morbid presence clashing violently with the castle's stark, ancient architecture.
As Aquila flew over the eastern tower, I saw a chaotic scene beneath. Ada, moving with incredible agility, used her grappling hook to fling Ganados off the parapet. But the swarm of roaming Plagas was growing rapidly, their numbers soon threatening to overwhelm her.
Without hesitation, I jumped from Aquila, plunging straight into the heart of the fight. During my freefall, I released around twenty of my most advanced creatures—the Gunters. Standing nearly 2.5 meters tall, these elite hunters, equipped with razor-sharp claws and thick, armored scales, were the pinnacle of my biological engineering—perfectly designed for the slaughter ahead.
The Gunters landed with enough force to shake the very foundations of the tower. Their imposing presence and coordinated movements instantly created a tactical advantage. They ripped through the Plagas with calculated brutality, claws tearing through flesh and bone, spreading terror and devastation among the attackers.
Taking advantage of the chaos created by the Gunters, Ada managed to repel her immediate assailants and repositioned herself on the tower for a better vantage point. When our eyes met, she gave me a small nod of acknowledgment.
"Thanks, Ada. I'm going to get her," I said, checking my gear as I readied my grenade launcher. "And I'm going to clean up this mess a little."With a sharp nod, I released another 20 Gunters, their arrival immediately escalating the ferocity of the battle.
"Be careful, they're more numerous than we expected," Ada warned as she adjusted her grappling hook, ready to repel more attackers."You heard the lady—let's thin out the castle's population," I ordered the Gunters. Driven by my command, the creatures charged through the tower and onto the adjoining ramparts, decimating the helpless Ganados in their path. Their brutal and rapid efficiency was terrifying, their claws slicing through everything before them.
As I leapt from the tower, I caught hold of Aquila's talon. The impressive creature carried me swiftly to the northern keep, as Ada had indicated. As I landed, I surveyed the chaos unfolding below me: desperate Ganados were attempting to man catapults to fire at my position. But their efforts were in vain. The Gunters, already spread out, swarmed every corner of the castle with overwhelming force.
The screams of the Ganados echoed through the stone walls, a grim testament to the brutal turn the tide had taken. Around every corner, the Gunters reigned supreme, using their strength and speed to overcome all resistance. The barely-functional catapults were swiftly destroyed, their operators eliminated before they could launch a single projectile.
Unintentionally, my order to thin the population also affected the castle's merchants. Caught in the conflict, these poor souls stood no chance against the Gunters. The castle—once an impenetrable stronghold—was quickly becoming a hunting ground for my creations.
The tense silence of the castle was suddenly shattered by a piercing scream and a deafening crash. I barely had time to register the source of the sound before a brutal force struck me, launching me violently into the wall of the keep. My body reacted instinctively; despite the searing pain in my back, I dove to the side just in time to avoid a barrage of stones crashing where I had just been.
Looking up, I saw an El Gigante clad in heavy armor, preparing to hurl another handful of boulders in my direction. My grenade launcher, shattered during the initial impact, lay useless at my feet, adding to my frustration. Gunters tried valiantly to tear into his armor, but the colossus was simply too massive and powerful to be seriously affected by their assault.
I quickly thought up an alternative strategy. With a fluid motion, I released a swarm of modified bats to create visual chaos while summoning a Blood—one of my more agile creations—to rapidly carry me toward him. Using the confusion caused by the bats, I dodged the stones and allowed myself to be grabbed by his unarmored hand.
The moment his grip closed around me, I activated my ability, sending the still-confused El Gigante straight to the lab—joining his buddy already captured in the quarry."You're gonna have to do better than that, Saddler," I sneered, a smug grin spreading across my face before turning and dashing into the keep.
The room, dimly lit by wall-mounted torches, had a dark, sinister atmosphere that matched the scene playing out before me. At the center stood the dwarf-like figure known as Salazar, flanked by his two towering guards. But Lisa was nowhere to be seen, and my anxiety surged.
"You've caused me quite a bit of trouble, Mr. King. Your paternal affection disgusts me, but I must admit your abilities are… fascinating. Have you—" Salazar began, his shrill voice cutting through the thick air.
I cut him off without hesitation, rage twisting my features as my hands morphed into razor-sharp claws."Where is my daughter, you little bastard?" I shouted, the tendrils on my back trembling with fury.
"Lord Saddler thought it best to move her elsewhere," Salazar cackled, only fueling my rising anger. His taunting laughter echoed through the chamber, each darkened door hinting at more horrors lurking beyond.
Unable to contain my fury, I lunged at him like a wild beast—but before I could reach the little tyrant, one of his guards struck me with a devastating blow, slamming my body against the keep's stone wall and momentarily knocking the air from my lungs.
Regaining my senses quickly, I got back on my feet to face my enemies once more. However, Salazar never missed an opportunity to further provoke my wrath.
"Oh, you should see what we have planned for your dear daughter," Salazar sneered, a cruel smile stretching across his face. "Lord Saddler's experiments are... revolutionary. Perhaps you should be proud that she's contributing to something so grand."
The tension in the room reached its peak as Salazar's words filled the air with a chilling weight. My response was low and menacing, both a warning and a promise:"You'll never lay a hand on my daughter again."
At those words, the G-Virus—once temporarily purged from my body—began to pulse violently through my veins. My rage triggered a dramatic transformation: my body began to grow, muscles swelling, skin hardening, and my features contorting into something more savage and menacing. My bloodshot eyes locked onto Salazar with brutal intensity.
For the first time, Salazar lost his smug expression and took a step back, clearly afraid. In a desperate move, he slammed his hand on a hidden button beneath his desk, triggering the opening of every surrounding door. A horde of Ganados armed with crossbows and muscular men bearing scarred bodies and metal claws burst into the room, ordered to stop my advance.
A powerful, guttural roar escaped my throat, reverberating through the chamber like the war cry of a prehistoric beast. I launched myself at the first Garrador, reducing him to a bloody pulp under my oversized fists. I didn't stop there—I charged at Salazar with a surprising speed for my massive new form.
In an act of pure survival, one of his guards scooped him up and escaped the room, while the other hurled himself at me in a desperate attempt to slow me down. Without hesitation, I crushed this second guard beneath my hand, his armor splintering under the force of my grip. The remaining creatures didn't last more than ten seconds against my mutated form.
As I smashed down the door behind which Salazar and his guard had fled, I felt the G-Virus once again being brought under control within me, slowly returning me to my normal state. My monstrous frame shrank, my muscles returning to their usual proportions, the fury giving way to a forced calm.
With Salazar now out of sight, I quickly pulled out my phone to contact Ada."Ada, I lost him. See if you can locate Lisa. I'm going to clean up here a bit before joining you," I said breathlessly, the toll of the transformation weighing on me.
I returned to the main hall to collect the enemies I had taken down, sending each one to the lab for later containment.
(Author's Note: I hope you enjoyed this scene—I mixed in a bit from the remake for this part. Also, here's a picture of the Gunter ^^)
